I love what we have accomplished thus far as a team, including our great draft selections. But has anyone noticed that the Texans seam to be really content on the offensive side of the ball this offseason. Unless some players are drafted to add to the competition level, we may be looking at the same offense that feeds Domeick the ball as if he's Earl Campbell, and alllows defenses to shift their entire coverage to AJ. Bringing back Bradford may be a good move for insurance reasons, but let's face it, 3 years, and really no strong production. Where is the competition going to come from in camp. Everyone in the league, the fans, and "experts" know that Carr needs another go to receiver, a true #2 and Bradford, Gaffney and anyone else riding the pine is not it! Either a WR draft pick is the answer, or the Texans should have gotten someone in FA. Lord forbid something happen to AJ, who steps up to fill a #1 role. A strong #2 is able to do that, and we have no one. I fear I'll be looking at the same DD dominated offense this upcoming season, setting the entire offense back another year. I love the guy, but when 50-65% of your plays go through one player, it's tough for the remainder of the team to get into the flow of things and be happy. I'm trying to stay positive with the draft coming, but unless a WR is selected in round #1, this offense could stumble again!

Watch out the sky is falling.
Remember Bradford was signed to a one year deal. If he does really well this year then no worries. If he is less than steller. then we resign him to the minimum or release after a year without a cap hit. I am willing to geuss that Bradford will be more productive than Charles Rodgers this year. Bradford $800,000. Rodgers got a 9,000,000 signing bonus and 975,000 salary last year. My geuss is that this year CR will be getting 1.1 million. I could be wrong, but there is a chance.

I think for it NOT to be, with the same weapons:
a) of course, our line needs to hold such that Carr can give looks b) (NOT based on #'s) when he DOES look, he needs to pick a #2 and toss some balls that way Otherwise, I think it'll be a repeat offense. Long balls to AJ, short balls here and there to Bradford and Gaffney, and DD/Wells running. |

Let's not forget that Armstrong will be challenging Corey big time this year. Lets also not forget that Sterling and Thomas will be in their second year and you could see one of them step up. Also Bradford has a 1yr contract with us, which means he will want to get that big money next year from either us or someone else, which means he will have to challenge himself to catch balls that land in his hands.

18,000 years of Texans history is a bit much to hope for :woot
Back on topic: With just a one year deal, Bradford is still an easy cut to make. I wouldn't call his job secure by any means. |

i feel he was only signed incase one of our project WR either Armstrong, sterling, thomas or a draft pick doesnt work out,,,,and he can step in and atleast be half productive for us.

yea it was a failsafe signing he knows the offense so it was a no brainer plus if he is cut before the season its no cap hit.
I dunno who is number 2 i think going into camp its an open slot with gaffney having the slight edge due to more playing time than armstrong. However I am intrigued to see what Armstrong can provide us with the added playing time he will recieve as long as bradford doesnt win the job again.

We need someone who can put pressure on the QB or we are really going to be limited in how far we can go. |

I will agree that Bradford will be more productive than C Rogers (notice no d in Rogers), if CRog breaks his collar bone on the 3rd play of the season again. 305,000 was his base salary last year, but a 9 mil signing bonus last year? I think that was spread out over the 5 or 6 yrs of the contract. Also, he has to play in over 75% of the O plays this year to reach alot of the incentives that will make his paycheck big this year. If he is hurt again, he only gets his base salary. He has been practicing this week. Reports are he added 15 lbs of muscle in the offseason without losing much or any speed. That puts him at 6'2" or 6'3" and 220 lbs. Just so ya'll know, Houston is my second team, behind the Lions, and I check in here almost daily, mostly just to read, so I will correct you when you talk bad about the Lions. Anyone else is fair game
