Default Kubiak comes out and says "Houston should expect a champion"

Seems like just yesterday...

Like I said a few weeks back, I'm not going to pile on Kubiak anymore. It isn't his fault that he's still employed here. All the criticism now rests at the feet of McNair.

And no one should expect Kubiak to resign because he's getting paid. I wish McNair had a little Jerry Jones in him.

You're right about that. Say what you want about Jerry Jones and his decisions, but there's no doubt that he wants to win. He may not always pursue it in the right fashion, but he craves for more championships.

McNair has only shown me apathy and being satisfied with mediocrity. The team builds off of that and accepts mediocrity. I hope I'm wrong and McNair makes some drastic changes. We'll see...

In his second season as HC, Raheem Morris (Bucs coach) was able to pull get more wins than Kubiak has ever had as a Texans HC. They would have made the playoffs had the Packers lost, I believe. Shame isn't it? McNair needs to realize stuff like that and fire Kubiak. The way he accepts being average is just amazing to me.

This pretty much sums up how I feel. I typed out a nice long post on Herv's thread only to lose it in cyberspace because the thread closed before my post submitted.

Absolutely right but we can't fire the owner. I'm hoping he will see more empty stadiums next year. Maybe that will get the point across?

& we'd have made the play-offs had the Jets lost one more game last year.

Same difference.

Raheem has 10 wins, their only "quality" win came last night against the Saints, when the Saints determination to win might have been suspect. Similar to our win against the Patriots last season.

I'm not defending Kubiak.... I don't believe he needs to be here any longer. But this argument is weak.

Big difference. Raheem is only in his SECOND season as a head coach,
with a second-year QB, AND the true "Youngest Team in the NFL."
Not to mention, they finished 6-2 on the road, 8-4 in conference, and 3-3 in
their very tough division. The Bucs have passed all indicators
that show they are a REAL playoff contender. Kubiak has yet to
post a winning conference record, or winning division record.

Raheem is LEAGUES better than Kubiak, and it only took his SECOND
season to prove it.

I think Bob McNair wants to win...his main problem is that he doesn't HATE LOSING. You can see that Jerry Jones hates every loss. That's why he'll at least try to make a splash with FA's and coaching changes. Now we're looking at his scraps.

This is what qualifies you as a Kubiak fan.

I pointed out that Kubiak fans, because they root for Kubiak "to succeed," will find excuses and rationalize and justify any negatives away with the wave of a hand.

Second season coach, second season QB, ghosts at WR and RB whom I don't see as being the same caliber of AJ and Foster, a head case at TE, and a defense that I don't see being hyped up by any sports media talking heads.

We can do better than what we have.

This.

Don't settle for mediocrity, that's how you end up with a bunch of kids and a nasty divorce years later. Unfortunately, the Kubiak/McNair relationship isn't going to have a nasty ending any time soon, and part of me thinks they are staying together for the kids...

You need to watch your choice of metaphors. Sometimes parents staying togeather for the kids is the right thing to do. I don't think Kubiak staying is the right thing to do.

In any case, I'd imagine we'll find out today what Uncle Bob is thinking.

The bucs have passed nothing. With them having done everything you said, it still results in NO PLAYOFFS.

The fact that its his 2nd year is inconsequential. Like you guys like to say, its a results driven business right? What will you say if Morris goes on to have 3 more seasons of non-playoff football? Will he be the utter failure that kubiak is right now too? There's no need to sqew reality to prove what we already know with kubiak.

That's just haterade talking. The Bucs record is the same smoke & mirrors we see from the Texans "usual" 4 game win streak at the end of the season.

5 seasons is enough time for any coach to make a team a play-off contender. We aren't. We had 8 games against teams with winning records, we won 3 of them. That's not going to cut it. That's not as competitive as this team should be.

That's enough reason to fire Kubiak, without comparing him to the Bucs & their weak schedule.

Kubiak has never had a schedule below .500. The Bucs played a .480

It's apples & oranges.

Compare this team to the Jets, the Ravens, & the Steelers who were all 9-7 just like we were a year ago. Compare us to the Jags who had virtually the same schedule.

The end result is just as bad, the argument is more accurate.

In 2006 we played a .523 schedule
In 2007 we played a .504 schedule
In 2008 we played a .547 schedule
In 2009 we played a .506 schedule
In 2010 we played a .547 schedule

None of this exonerates Kubiak IMO.... so don't twist what I'm saying. Comparing him to Raheem Morris again, IMO, is weak.
