So we're all upset about the coaching situation, and its continued presence. I think I read somewhere on here that it wouldn't make sense for McNair to hire a new coach with a lockout being so likely for next season. Is that so? Is it best to wait for the league's dispute to end before bringing in a new coach?

Ask the likes of Carolina, San Fran, etc. if the looming lockout negates their ability to make a coaching change (didn't mention Minny and Dallas as they had "head coaches in waiting").
If they were going to make a change it would be done this Monday - no waiting for a CBA resolution; however, this franchise is going to continue to reward mediocrity by keeping around the folks responsible for losing 8 of our last 9 and failing to reach the playoffs in five seasons.
