A pretty good little blurb about where draft position stands going into the final weekend. It is written from a Cowboys perspective, but it has some applicability to our situation.
Considering how shallow the top of the draft is, we would do well to go ahead and lose to the Jags. It'll help keep us in the top 10 in the draft and it just might help rid us of the curse that is Kubiak. http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/ar...-the-draf.html |

Example 1 ... 2010 defensive backs and not addressing needs . Example 2 ... drafting a RB in the 2nd round when had Foster on the pine last year . I know this is hindsight but these are big boo boos .

The big boo boo was not addressing needs in free agency, and counting on the draft to fill holes. They could have signed Tomlinson or Thomas Jones in free agency, and went into the season with a Foster-vet-Slaton triumvirate. They could have either signed Bodden, traded for Cromartie, or tagged Dunta. Nah, we'll just plug holes in the draft.
And fans expect that to change this offseason. As Emmitt Smith might say, a tiger doesn't change his spots. I expect the Texans to reach in the draft for needs. Like a nose tackle and a free safety. Rick Smith will sign some vagabond CB and proclaim we're set there. SOS.

I would like to add DT to the list . The lack of size to be specific and only once did they try to address it with Okam .

Now if Kubiak allows the team to beat the Jaguars tomorrow that's exactly what I'm going to do afterward. In fact he should be fired immediately if they take the lead at any point in that game. WE NEED THE BEST DRAFT POSITION POSSIBLE.

hindsight is great isnt it? they could have also signed other old, possibly broken down, rbs like chester taylor, larry johnson, lenwhale, julius jones, kevin jones, fargas, mike bell, michael bennet, westbrook etc who've all done little to nothing with their new teams. better only mention the two guys that did ok: TJ is in a great sitaution in KC & is still avg only 3. sumthin yds/carry last time i checked and LT's slowing down after a strong start dont really see what the rb situation has to do with anything? what would you have rather done-spent that second on another DB for you to ***** about? most ppl (me excluded btw) werent sure of foster at the end of last yr and wanted another yound back because of that. ya it worked out ok for LT & TJ but everyone knows its generally a young RB league these days. and they did try to get bodden so dont really get your pt about that, dunta was a rip off & cromartie was a big risk that was playing crap for the last 1-2 yrs in SD |

And Kubiak has debacled our franchise!

Yes, it is. It's how we judge the job performance of professionals. Did Smithiak's plan for 2010 work? No. Were there other options available? Yes.
There are fans like yourself that want to propagate the notion that Smithiak's plan was the best option available. Things just didn't work out. Not their fault. There are fans such as myself that will point out that their's wasn't the best plan available. And that their failures in planning had no small part in the failures of the season. There are fans such as yourself that expect Smithiak's plan for 2011 to succeed. There are fans such as myself that can point to failures over the past several years and conclude that the 2011 Smithiak plan will fail, yet again. You expect the best of Smithiak. I expect the SOS. Hindsight is on my side.

The way the secondary is, it wouldn't matter. All the guy run about the same however if the coaches can't coach. Then it doesn't make a difference
