Terrell Owens Puts Blame on Coaches, Owner for Bengals' Woes - Houston Texans Message Board & Forum

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Receiver Terrell Owens says the Cincinnati Bengals' lousy season is the result of underachieving "from the top down," and he particularly points a finger at the coaches.

Teammate Chad Ochocinco asked Owens during "The T.Ocho Show" on Versus cable network Tuesday night why he thinks the team is 2-11.

"I think there's underachieving from the top down," Owens said. "You start with the owner, you start with the coaches. And obviously we as players, we are a product of what the coaches are coaching us throughout the course of the week.

"Of course, we have to go out there and play the game. But in order for us to do what we're allowed to do at the best of our abilities, the coaches have to put the players in the best position."

Surprisingly, for once I agree with T.O. about this issue. Palmer is an overrated QB who makes bad decisions quite a bit. I wouldn't doubt he's led a game-winning 2 minute drive in the last season or two, but I certainly can't recall it happening.

Their team reminds me of us. Good talent that's under-achieving. As far as Marvin Lewis goes, I'm in the crowd that thinks he should have been fired a while back.

And for the most part T.O. has stayed out of the media and kept his mouth shut while producing on both Buffalo and Cincinatti.

There were a lot of things that went wrong in Cincy this season, however, T.O. was not one of them (that's a first). What happened to their defense, there DBs are decent but the rest of the unit has played very poorly. Carson Palmer has not been himself since he 32 TDs in a single season, in fact he's been worse than just about everyone except Matt Hasslebeck.
