Default Our NO-NAME "Wonder Boy" Nemesis For the Ravens Game has been Identified

This year, our defense has made a living of making superstars out of some of the most unlikely members of the opposing offenses. Who will it be this Monday night? We've always had problems with teams having effective TEs. "Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane It's........................??????" Here may be a good guess.

Dickson presents different options at TE

At 6 feet, 4 inches and 250 pounds, Ravens rookie tight end Ed Dickson boasts a body frame similar to that of the man he is expected to replace Monday night against the Houston Texans.

Although Dickson and Todd Heap (6-5, 247 pounds) are large, swift targets over the middle for quarterback Joe Flacco, both tight ends present differing options for the offense.

Theres probably some subtle changes, coach John Harbaugh said after the teams practice Saturday. You might not do as much with Ed as you would do with Todd. Todds been around for, what, eight years or so, and hes really an accomplished player. He can do so many things, hes very versatile. Eds in his first year. So I think we have to keep that in mind. But Eds capable of doing some things that are special. Hes fast, hes athletic, hell get in there and fight you blocking. So weve got a lot of confidence in he and [fellow rookie tight end] Dennis [Pitta].

With Heap having missed all three days of practice this past week, Dickson has been taking the majority of snaps with the first offense, but thats not terribly out of the ordinary, he said.

I usually take a couple reps with the first offense in normal weeks, Dickson said. So Im used to that. Its just that for a couple days this week, Joe and I took extra time after practice to throw the ball and get that chemistry down between receiver and quarterback.

Yep. Put it in the bank.

Flacco is having battle-red steak for dinner tomorrow night.

If Diles doesn't play, we're good.

Ya know this is funny statement. For 2 years I am complained about Diles being a young Morlon Greenwood and was met with heavy resistance.

Sometimes I think the Texans coaching staff gets on here to promote their boys.

I was a H-U-G-E fan of Ed Dickson when we were mock drafting in the offseason.

I am looking forward to seeing him in action.
