Not a big Newton in the top #10 fan. Quinn would be 11-15 for me.
like him or not he will be a top 10 pick we just need to come to a consensus. It's not hard to project him having a huge Vince Young moment against the Oregon Ducks in the BCS game. Ducks are not a very good defense & there is precident from last years Rose Bowl when they got out physical by Ohio State & Terrel Pryor (26-17). Pryor, not close to Cam in passing department went 23/37 for 266 yards & 2 TD's also had 20 rushing attempts for 72 yards. I fully expect Cam to surpass those numbers on heels of his landside Heisman win http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5909569

Thats fine. Just giving my 2 cents. I think people will be scared off by his immaturity, and scandal if you will, yet I do believe that some team will snatch him up in the middle of the round. But if yall want to put him top 10 then thats fine too.

don't take this the wrong way, you are one of this boards excellent talent evaluators & I respect your opinion. these are the same discussions that need to transpire to simulate the conversations in draft war rooms & scouting departments. Was Vince Young worth the #3 overall pick in the 2006 draft? alot of Houston Texans fans feel he was, however those few are becomming less & less vocal with events transpired in Tennessee. The other player I would compare Cam to is Ben Roethlisberger who the Texans passed on with the 10th pick in 04 in favor of Dunta Robinson despite having David Carr as the starting QB.

I'm leaning towards assigning Cam the 10th spot. Which leaves Blackmon/Quin as favorites to go #8 & #9 but as stated would like more input from members to come to a consensus. Blackmon pro comp is Andre while Quin is Peppers both deserving selections.

I think #8 is too high for Blackmon. I see him more as a 15-20 guy. I would not put any WR other than Green in the top 10. Maybe Paea or Clayborn at #8. Or maybe even Quinn.

Clayborn had a down year and IMO #8 is to high for Paea, so on talent alone Quinn would be a logical choice if we decide to keep Blackmon for later.

I would be okay with Miller or Clayborn since they have put up good numbers overall. Paea, although a good player, is not top-10 talent...more like top 15.

Way to early for Mallett, IMO.

Miller is also to early.

I am thinking Newton needs to be in around 10, so 9 is not to out line, but no way I take him at 9 or 10, Micheal Vick he is not.

So I like Blackmon , Paea and Clayborn.

As for the OTs, I'm not lock into my ranking of them yet. I'm waiting for the Senior Bowl to be a better fix on them.

But one of them should be on our list around now Castonzo, Sherrod, Solder, Carimi and Love should all be 1st rounders. Pick one.

IMO Blackmon maybe raw but has #1 measureables. Julio is more refined, very good route runner, good hands & plus size but somthing tells me he is best suited to fill in the #2 role & primary red zone target. Julio would actually be a good fit for the Texans, would be an excellent compliment to Andre Johnson.

I really think that right now, Blackmon is a mid-twenties pick. I think he probably goes back to school next year.

I think Jones may be a 15-20 pick.

For pick # 9, perhaps it's time to look at the top OT's. You know for sure that come draft time, someone will be there.

I would flip those but suffice to say we will agree to leave him (Blackmon) out of the Top 10.

Concerning OT's I just don't see one rated higher than say a Michael Oher, who was selected by the Ravens #23rd overall pick in 09. I still think one of the QB's already discussed & another DE maybe?
