How 'bout that mega run around MJD gave to Cush? Did those announcers gush or what?

Here's the difference:

Last year Brian Cushing would've came running full steam like a freight train from hell to blow MJD's face off for a 2 yard loss.

This year Brian Cushing came to a complete stop before attempting a tackle, danced a jig with MMFJD, barely got an arm tackle attempt in before someone else made the play for a MJD positive gain and man love.

Where has all the rage gone?

IT IS CLEAR TO ME THAT WHATEVER BRIAN CUSHING IS GUILTY OF DOING, WHATEVER HE SERVED A SUSPENSION FOR HAS HAD A SEVERE IMPACT ON HIS ABILITY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A FOOTBALL GAME

2009-4 sacks, 4 Ints, 10 passes deflected, 2 forced fumbles, 86 tackles/47 assists, 1 safety, 1 positive test

2010-0 sacks, 0 Ints, 2 passes deflected, 0 forced fumbles, 24 tackles/12 assists, 1 4 game suspension

Even if you have the time to extrapolate these numbers over 12 games (or you know...16 games because that's how long a season is for non-abusers) they are pretty....Morlon Greenwood-ish.

I guess you forgot about the 2008 DeMeco Ryans? Players can have a down year. Why don't you let his post-suspension career play out for more than 5 games before passing judgement that he won't ever be the player he used to be.

Not saying you may not be right in the long run, but 5 games? On a defense THIS bad?

I doubt he was as squeeky clean as most Texans fans believed when he was suspended. Most of the "he's obviously innocent and the test is flawed" bullcrap flowed from the bull on his helmet, nothing more.

Add the fact that he is playing with a group of demoralized players, and that might effect the effort he is putting out too. I'll say it again: The players aren't dumb. They know as well as any fan that they are playing in a lousy system with little hope for improvement driven by the current leadership.

Cushing didn't test positive for steroids, and assuming that the HCG he did test positive for was a part of a steroid cycle, it is a part of the end of the cycle. Even in a scenario where he was using steroids, he wasn't using them at any point in the season last year.

So, I don't see how it makes sense to be blaming his play on a "lack of 'roid rage" or whatever the consensus seems to be.

He looked like he was getting his pep back in his step this past game but i do believe that he is another 1 of our good players who's play appears to have slipped largely b/c of all the turds around them. Last year was last year & teams usually adjusts for good/great players. You see Chris Johnson coming anywhere near 2000 yds this season? how about Jared Allen racking up 15-16 sacks? Its a team game, & you need quality around you to do that kind of stuff consistently...& we all know what we mostly have on defense.

I don't think it is a lack or roid rage, the guy seems fired up plenty up as it is, but I do wonder if it has hurt his athleticism some. Or his self-confidence.
