Default During and After the game

I saw a few players that looked pretty pissed. Arian Foster kept shaking his head, AJ kept starring into space and Matt Schaub looked pretty ticked.

Everytime we got inside the 10, Foster was getting pulled out after being the only reason they got to the 10. Any chance he was pissed because he was pulled out and felt that someone was trying to hold him back or upset that they weren't giving him the rock to punch it in?

AJ looked kind a lossed. Any of that because he's not getting any balls thrown to him or because we aren't calling his number more?

Schaub looked like he disagreed with play calling when we got inside the 10

I think Arian had to be pissed. I would have been. He should have been given the chance to punch it in.

AJ was probably imagining what it would have been like had he not re-upped with the Texans as he is in his prime now and locked in on yet another losing Texans team. He was probably imagining being on a winning and consistent team.

Schaub made some crap assed throws so he needs to be a little pissed at himself too.

Defense still equals FAIL.

I noticed that too especially with Arian. Just check out this video under "Sights & Sounds - Fans Question Kubiak After Texans' Loss" Arian's reaction is very telling of how frustrated he was.

My friend and I were talking about this at the game. If Kubiak hates Foster that much why not just run him into the ground and reep the benefits along the way?

What if, and here is a really really BIG conspiracy theory here.......

WHAT IF they are intentionally trying to hold Foster's production down, especially TDs, because certain people in certain places in the Texans organization do NOT want to have a contract situation on their hands?

If you can limit Foster's numbers, you can respectfully decline contract renegotiation attempts. "Well, he had a good year...but the numbers are not that far out of line with what Steve Slaton did in HIS first year. And look what happened with him. We need one more year to check the numbers."

LOL. Man, there isn't a solid answer about why Foster is getting pulled or limited in crucial situations in every game.

The first Colts game is the only game where we fed him the ball all game long. Since then, what happened? Tell me what happened. He even had to sit out the Raiders game. JUST for missing a meeting, huh? Or maybe because his agent was pressing for contract talks too early? So they punish Foster on the missed meeting thing AND it sends a message that this team is not going to let the players rule the day?

This is very strange. What team does NOT feed a RB the ball when he's absolutely gashing the opposing defense to the tune of about 6 or 7 or 8 yards per carry all through the first half? Huh? Tell me why. What is the sound, fundamental "football-related" decision there? There is none.

Facepalm me all you want. There is not a single, sound, fundamental reason a team does NOT continue to do what works. It defies logic. It insults the intelligence of fans AND players ont he Texans.

Two guys up in the luxury boxes look down, and all they see is that a certain player is going bananas on the field every game. What the Hell do you think is going through those two guys' minds?

As they sip on their champagne, they are thinking they have to step in and make sure someone doesn't get the big head. Because they don't want to have to crunch the contract numbers if Foster freaking LAPS Chris Johnson this season.

Someone's putting the brakes on Foster. Would a head coach willingly sacrifice wins by withholding his best player every game, and only at certain crucial times? Come on, man. After the Colts game, we should see Foster during both halves of each game. But we don't. I actually think Ward's success is to blame. Before acquiring Ward, Foster was used more wasn't he? Then in comes Ward and he busts off several TD runs of his own.

Hmmm...............

I agree with your last statement. While contemplating the reasoning behind this, I figured that Ward can pick up the pass pro alot better, and plus he just had a run where he dragged two defenders with him closer to the goalline. But then, they would run the ball anyways. I'm thinking 'why not Foster'. If you wanted to rest him you could've at least run a bootleg play. The naked bootleg was there all day long. Anyone remember when we used to run that with Shanahan?

I believe that our coaches feel very strongly about "roles" and one of the roles they seem to think we cannot live without is "goal line/short yardage specialist". They don't appear to understand what makes a running back good at getting vital short yardage or punching it in from point blank range but they know they need one and they appear to have decided that Derrick Ward is that guy this year.

Last year it was Chris Brown. Somehow that vital "cog" in our team didn't get invited back. Go figure.

Derrick Ward is no Chris Brown. he's a good back but Foster appears to either a) be a great back, or b) be in the midst of a great season.

You don't sit the man down who has the hot hand when you get down inside the 10. To the Texans though it never enters their mind not to bring in their "goal line/short yardage specialist" to finish the drive off.

Mindless, robotic thinking. Twice yesterday we settled for 3 points when we should have had 7. The first time it was Foster's mistake in not putting that ball away on the TD pass from Schaub. The second time Derrick Ward was stopped trying to get around the Chargers on the left side on 3rd and goal. Foster wasn't even on the field. We left 8 points on the field on those two drives that would have won the game.

If anything, keep him out there to continue to put the pressure on the other teams D to stop him.

The other thing I was thinking was that Kubiak may have finally lost the trust of his players. That's where everything starts to roll down hill.

Derrick Ward's TD runs seem to all come from about 20 yards or more out. because the defense isn't expecting him. They're expecting him to block on a pass play when we're that far from the end zone. Then we hand it off to him, and BAM! he's gone.

Get near the goal line, and look what happens: They stack the box and stuff Ward. Because they respect Ward's ability to grind out the yards, but they don't think he's going to rush the ball from 20 yards out. To the opposing defense, that range of field position, for the Texans offense, is pretty much a passing situation.

We've become predictable. To everyone. And the one thing that overcomes the predictability is Arian Foster who defies all the odds that are against us.

Yet he gets sat down in crucial moments of the game. A fine puzzle this is.

Yeah, I think the players are nearing that ZOMBIE mindset. It's why AJ bobbled the pass at the end of the game. They're all thinking a lot of things at the same time. They're not, IMO, supportive of what's happening.

Kubiak is insecure. I've said that as far back as four years ago. He doesn't like to be second-guessed. He has put so much into restoring this team (in the past, especially in years 1 and 2) that it's cost him the future. He's going to lose the war because he's trying to win all the battles.

Blinded, IMO. He's like Congress: If he'd leave for a few weeks, the nation wouldn't miss him much. He isn't a difference-maker anymore. He's reached his plateau. He has his Elway-type playmaker (Arian Foster) and he can't see it. Or he's being told to not see it, if you know what I mean.

Sometimes I wonder if McNair and Smith are having their hand on operations a little more deeper than we think. Another theory: Kubiak is being held hostage and is doing things to please certain people. And he can't give any hints or he'll be fired. I just can't see a head coach being THIS blinded. I really can't.

Can't rep ya are I would GP!! Just glad someone else feels the same way I do. I just does NOT make sense!! I'm a firm believer in the "conspiracy theory" anyway, have been since the old Oiler days. Money talks, pure and simple, from the topdogs in the NFL to the guys on the field. THAT SAID, I do not believe there is a Texan player that does not want to kick ass and take this team to the next level!! Our failure to get there lies somewhere from the topdog of this franchise to the dimwits on the sideline.

I've said this a zillion times in the last nine years. I'm SICK OF THE NICE GUY ATTITUDE!!!!! Daddy Bob brought the NFL back to Houston, we all love him for that, BUT, he's a wuss!! Hire "nice" guys, don't trade or draft anyone with a neg history mark, have your players so involved in Community service stuff during the reg season that they can't focus on football, (I'll get blasted for that remark, but, don't care,) keep the lid on the bank account (this coming from a friggin billionaire,) and don't make waves with the almighty NFL brass!! I've never bashed Bob McNair in the past, and I'm not really bashing him now. He just needs to grow some and get down to the business of winning a frigging playoff spot, and do WHATEVER it takes to get it done! I've wondered if he has the guts to get in Kubiaks face and ask him what the hell's going on. Is his trust so complete that he has blinders on?

I'm rambling this morning, so sorry. After MNF I was as mad as Ive ever been at this franchise, and not very forgiving. Today, I'm HURT to the core!! I associate with some great football minds on this and a couple other boards, so I know that (being a woman) and never playing the game, I'm not that far off the cuff when it comes to analyzing what's going on. It could be something as simple as having a HC that is so far out of his league as a HC that he will never see the light of day, or there really is some underlying, ugly, bull******, business going on that makes us all sick. When it comes to football season I THINK to much. Wish I could turn it all off on Monday morning and not care, but, haven't been that way in 50 yrs, so not gonna happen now.

Dude, come on. I know you're only joking, but, I heard some clueless dipshit on the radio say the same thing recently and I damn near crashed my car while driving. No way are they intentionally holding Foster back for contract reasons. No way.

However, I do think that, deep down, this team is afraid of success. It happens. I've known people, and organizations, that secretly fears being in the spotlight because it means they will have to perform, and, it's a lot easier to NOT perform than it is to be forced to perform because of expectations.

I'm thinking Arian's gassed?

AJ looked kind a lossed. Any of that because he's not getting any balls thrown to him or because we aren't calling his number more?

Schaub looked like he disagreed with play calling when we got inside the 10

You do know that both, yes I said BOTH of Arian's TD's were plays within the 10 yard line...

If Andre was pissed, he was pissed at himself for turning the ball over at the 10 yard line.

Schaub made some crap assed throws so he needs to be a little pissed at himself too.

Defense still equals FAIL.
Maybe he should have been less pissed off about signing with this team and more focused on making the game winning catch.

Seriously? Kicking it directly to a defender? Thats a complete mental lapse for a guy of his caliber.

Lets quit pretending that he's having some sort of subpar career by playing with the Texans. He's having a hall of fame career here.

Has he gotten a chance in the playoffs? No. But he gets a ton of balls thrown his way and is putting up huge numbers as a result.

He is averaging more yards per game than any WR in the history of the NFL. I highly doubt that he would be putting up much better numbers anywhere else. Our offense feeds him the ball quite regularly.

He chose to reup with us because he knows how good he has it here.

I have no sympathy for a guy who is getting paid as well as he is. That last play is 100% on him.

He's still my favorite player and this is the first time this season he's made a mistake, but it was a crucial one, and I think its ridiculous that we're tlaking about poor AJ being held back by the Texans when he was the final straw that broke our camels back yesterday

While I don't agree of any conspiracy theory, or holding Arian out for contract reasons - (let's see 3 potential td's. LOL) I do agree that McNair is much of the problem.

In fact, here is a recent corporate photo of Bob McRogers -
