Default TBB Video: Isolated Review Series Zac Diles / Antonio Smith

We've got two videos up this morning from our Isolated Review series.

The first one is on Zac Diles:

Quote:
Zac Diles is the most undervalued member of the Houston Texans. Drafted in the 7th round of the 2008 NFL draft no one had expectations for him to be successful. He’s turned into one of the Texans best defensive players over the last three seasons. Diles returned from a broken leg two years ago to play terrific football despite being moved around the three linebacker positions his entire career. One of the things that highlights Diles’ impressive play is his consistency as a sound tackler.

Sunday was a homecoming for Diles. He grew up about 3 hours from Oakland and he expected to have many friends and family in the stands.

Let’s hope Diles doesn’t have any other NFL cities that he considers “home” on the schedule this season. Diles phoned it in while his friends and family looked on. The normally crisp LB was lethargic, sloppy and slow. Easily the worst game I can recollect him playing in his career. He was unfocused and his body looked sloppy. The normally sound tackler rarely squared up to make a tackle. He was getting shoved around the entire game. Other than one specifically effective blitz late in the game he was virtually ineffective throughout. How bad was it? Xavier Adibi played a more sound football game than Zac did.
Read the rest of the Zac Diles story and watch the video here.

The second video is on Antonio Smith. You can watch that video here.

Damn. Diles was a hot mess.

Smith played on fire from the get go, that much was easy to see. He can blow by guards with ease....tackles not so much but he treats guards with bad intentions.

Video request: Joel Dreesen. Dude is making plays and getting the most minimal of love for it.

Antonio Smith's biggest asset to this team is how disruptive he is. He may not get the stats but he has got to be one of the most aggravating players to block. He's so violent and gets terrific penetration consistently. The Texans are moving he and Mario to the same side at times. That lineup will scare the piss out of O line coaches over the coming weeks.

Will make a note of it on Dreesen.

Thanks.

Mario interviewed on 610am the other morning and said Antonio wasn't a dirty player, didn't cheap shot anybody but that he was just crazy physical. His aggression might take away from his game occassionally but it's worth it to have that one guy on the line that is just PISSED at them for being in his way.
