With todays Colts loss to the Jags, Texans have a firm hold on the AFC South.

Who would have thunk it?

Big deal. Today didn't feel good at all. I'll get excited after week 17.

Not sure how firm the hold is but we are 1 game better than I thought we would through 4.

Aw, it feels pretty good to be 3 and 1 for the first time in franchise history.

The first quarter of the season is in the books. Three more like that and you're looking at a 12-4 team.

True, however I am not getting too excited until I start seeing this team play defense. Maybe Cushing's return can get that going.

One game isn't really firm. I'll take it though, just remember if we lose next week and the Colts win our records will be exactly the same. Lets keep this up though!

NOt exactly the same, 'cause Indy already has 2 division losses.

Yeah forgot about that, hopefully that won't come into play at the end of the season though. It's still true for the Jags and Titans though, Texans lose and they win they'll have matching records. It's possible going into week 6 all AFCS teams are 3-2 so Texans do not have a firm grip on this thing yet.

If we end up with the same record as Indy, and if they beat us on Monday night on their turf to even up the head-2-head, then, and only then does division win-loss record come into play with regard to playoffs positioning, if I am not mistaking.

Not saying it's not important, it is. The above scenario is highly likely.

Agreed. I'm not saying we should be doing better and should be 4-0, just stating how quick things can change.

To be 3-1 with what has happened with Cushing, Brown, and Andre being nicked up is a huge success in my eyes. Before the season i thought 2-2 was the most likely result in these first 4 games, so 3-1 is great.

I'm very happy we are 3-1 atop the division and hate to seem ungrateful about it, but 3-1 or not I don't think we are playing the best football in the division right now. Having said that I think at this moment the difference between best to worst in the AFC South is very little.

At the end of the day today we have the acorn....

.....now it's time to run like hell with it because that acorn is so hard to own.

As for me, 1st place!!!

I think we have to win these next two games and then after the bye week we are in for a rough schedule we will hopefully have are whole team together, so we need to get our **** together and start play like a reaL playoff contender.

We were in first before by virtue of a win in the division, and the fact it was over the second place team with the same record.

I ussually say I'll take every ugly win we can get, but I'm starting to pucker some!!!!!

This here is the very reason my feeling on this team's standing
right now is "meh." We surprised the Colts, beat a struggling
Eagles team, lost to a struggling Cowboys team, beat a bad
Raiders team. Same thing we've ALWAYS done.

If the Texans come off the bye with winning a majority of those next
five games, THEN we'll be sayin' something. As of right now, "meh."
