Looks like he's going to get a shot to play. Maybe this helps the front 7 and our DBs don't get so exposed.

As I understand it, his game shape was what they were waiting on. As a situational pass rusher I can't imagine how out of shape he would have to be in order to be ineffective but apparently he was.
Anything will help. I admire the Texans for trying to bluff it with Nading in there as a pho - Barwin but it was ugly. We shot some footage of it but never got the story finished. Some serious rag doll imitations. The Barwin injury was much more damaging than I would have thought. Getting Cushing back will give Frank Bush some more diversity from a scheme stand point. The last two games it's clear that they have been really handcuffed. Getting that pressure is the achilles of this defense. Without Cushing and Barwin we were exposed. Or as one Cowboys fan proudly explained to me "We 'disposed' your weakness!" I sure will miss those cowboys fans.

Thank God can we please end the Jesse Nading experiment? The guy gives us absolutely nothing.

We need someone other than Mario to get after the QB. It's a lot to ask of a player to completely dominate every game he's in and that appears to be the situation we've put Mario in yet again. He dominated the first two and was average at best last week.
We need someone to pick up the slack when Mario isn't "on". Cushing will help when he returns but if Ogunleye can get 6 sacks or so that would help us out a lot.

I'm excited about Ogunleye. Probably out of desperation but you never know when someone will just click in a particular defense.

I thought Ogunleye was better than Denney but I don't know if he's a great deal better than Nading. Nading actually made some plays for a change against Oakland. Either way I think the 3rd down defensive end will lose more snaps with Cushing back, whether its Nading or Ogunleye.

We got from Ogunleye about what I hoped for his first game back. He got some decent push on a couple bull rushes, didn't give up the point of attack, and hustled pretty well. He didn't make any outstanding plays, but he wasn't a liability, either. I have hopes for the guy going forward as a rotational DL.

He looks like he can be a good player for us once he gets a few more snaps under his belt. He looks pretty good coming off of the edge... |

He looks like a player. A few times I found myself impressed with his athleticism, size and flow to the ball.
With Ogunleye, Smith, Okoye and Williams that is some impressive athleticism on the line.
