A 4 INT game and loss to the Browns?

Brees has already thrown 10 picks this season, after throwing just 11 all of last year

So has Farve, and Rodgers.. Here are the top rated QB's with at least 150 attempts, sorry anything less than that I threw out. If anything I feel for Phillip Rivers, watching that many receivers drop THAT man passes was sickening.

1. Peyton Manni, QB IND 254 171 67.3 1916 7.54 73 13 2 6 103.4
4. Philip Rivers, QB SD 270 171 63.3 2344 8.68 59 13 6 20 97.8
5. Tom Brady, QB NE 198 131 66.2 1362 6.88 46 11 4 12 96.0
6. Tony Romo, QB DAL 213 148 69.5 1605 7.54 69 11 7 7 94.9
7. Matt Schaub, QB HOU 197 127 64.5 1538 7.81 50 9 5 16 93.0
8. Kyle Orton, QB DEN 276 167 60.5 2140 7.75 61 11 4 17 92.1
9. Matt Cassel, QB KC 153 91 59.5 1044 6.82 53 9 3 5 91.5
10. Drew Brees, QB NO 287 200 69.7 2029 7.07 80 14 10 11 91.4

The chump didn't look bad last night against the Steelers. Of course if they Aints and Steelers play each other in the Superbowl I feel sorry for him. They'r gonna kill him.

Default Re: Madden Curse Watch: Drew Brees has a strained MCL in his left knee

Brees in the second half last night:

20-22/200yds/2TDs

not a bad statline for a half against the Steelers D

but we've seen this before (TB game) and then fall flat the following week (Cleveland game) - inconsistent

so we'll see if he can keep it up

the injuries hurt, but if Brees is on, we have a chance.

But last night the star of the game was the Saints' D.

4 TDs allowed in the last 4 games.

Our top 4 CBs out - Greer, Porter, Gay (IR), and Robinson.

Our CB group last night was our 5th CB (Torrence) on the depth chart and two former CBs-turned-safeties (Jenkins and Young).

And the back half of our D is our strength - props to the front 7 on defending the run game and keeping pressure on Big Ben.

Williams called a phenomenal defensive game last night.

It's sad that the Saints 4/5/6 CBs look better than the Texans 1/2/3. It really goes to show how a great defensive front that creates pressure can change the field of the secondary.

I think the Texans just went about building their defense in a different way. The Saints have drafted secondary and signed secondary. In the last couple of years these are the changes:

Signed CB Jabari Greer (top notch corner; imo among the most underrated in the NFL)
Drafted CB Tracy Porter
Signed CB Randall Gay
Signed FS Darren Sharper
Drafted CB Usama Young (moved to S)
Drafted CB Malcolm Jenkins (moved to S)
Drafted CB Patrick Robinson (rookie year - looks impressive overall)

The most veteran person in our secondary from a Saints seniority perspective is SS Roman Harper (drafted in 06)

The philosophy, as a result, has been to provide a strong back end to help what is an undersized and often outmatched front 7.

Our front 7 is pretty pedestrian aside from Ellis and Vilma. I think Will Smith is overrated - plays inconsistently and doesn't get enough pressure to make up for the number of times he loses containment in run support.

Williams moves a lot of guys around and rotates a lot of people and at times we've got 5 LBs on the field at once.

I guess the thinking is that you cover the guys and give our front 7 time to get to the passer or keep enough in front to defend the run.

It seems to me - as an outsider - that the Texans looked to build their front 7 more. Ryans, Cushing, Williams, Okoye, Babin, etc... in terms of drafting. I know y'all grabbed Robinson this year for CB.

After years of watching the strong D squads for the Saints being the DLine and LB corps, it's a fun change to watch our DBs play so well now and be the strong unit on a D.

I will be glad, though, to get Porter and Greer and Robinson healthy and all available for duty.

So....

Bearing the distinction of losing to the worst playoff team in history, should we consider this the Madden curse at work?

With as much Vicks as Brees takes, no wonder he passed the curse.

The nighttime sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, fever, madden curse reliever so you can play medicine.

Yes. The Madden Curse was with Brees all season. It got his running backs injured, and Brees threw the most interceptions this season than any other year in his career. Plus, his team lost to a team that had a losing record in the regular season.

The Madden Curse is real.
