Ogunleye, Derrick Ward

I saw Ward get a run, but where is Ogunleye? I even saw that other DE that we signed. You would think you could get Ogunleye for at least a blitz package but ......nothing.

Ogunleye was inactive for the game. I am ready to see him get some playing time.

I am still scratching my head as to why Derrick Ward doesn't get the start over Steve Slaton, I hope to see him get a few more runs than Slaton. Anything will be better than how Slaton ran yesterday.

yeah, i did gather that from his two carries, actually.

this is how you know kubiak is on the hotseat..

they are in "win now" mode. that usually means a coach that is on hotseat

signing old ward instead of keeping the very young ,very promising jeremiah johnson, will ultimately hurt this team in the long run, but the coaches dont care...because they are in win now mode ...probably kubiaks last year if they keep playing like they did against boys

The reason Ward was signed was because Tate went on IR (out for the season) and I believe JJ got hurt in the final pre season game. What else should they have done?

Tate is on IR. JJ is not on IR, nor is he on PUP (by definition, if you participate in even one pre-season practice, you are ineligible for that season's PUP).

JJ was waived. If the Texans want to, they can either sign him to the PS, or add him to the 53 man roster at any point. The fact that they have done nothing to this point tells me they're either not interested, or that he's not healthy enough to participate in practices yet. I hope it's the latter.

Ward looked very good, I'm expecting him to get most of Foster's "breather" carries.

Ward seems to fit this system very well. He looked really comfortable out there today. It might just be that he wasn't well suited to the way the Buccaneers run the ball. He wouldn't be the first guy to excel where he was, then sign a free agent deal with a team that he isn't a good fit for.

I was at work today while the Texans were playing but did Ogunleye play at all? I was curious to how he did.

We really need Ward to be able to take some carries. Foster is great, but running backs don't do well with a huge amount of touches in a year.

I saw his #99 jersey out there a few times, but statistically he just recorded one tackle.

Exactly. The bigger picture was that he kept Mario and Antonio's legs fresh in the 4th quarter.

I think that's part of the rotation though. I'm sure Ogunleye had a snap count on him too.

On that last Raider TD drive, I about flipped my lid because it looked like Nading got some good pressure but was being held by a choke hold and the refs just let it go.
