Texans are the new "America's team"

Okay, that whole label has always been pretty silly, but since the Cowboys are always saying that about themselves and trying to act like the Texans are like some stepchild, I think it would be cool to call ourselves the new "America's Team" if we win this Sunday. That will just drive Cowboys fans nuts. I won't be at the game because the normal seats where I sit will cost like 400 dollars and I can't afford that right now, but I might make it out to tailgating any way. That would be cool to see a bunch of signs in the game that say TEXANS= AMERICA"S TEAM!!

As much as I hate that title, I'd love to take it away from Dallas.

I hate that title and that is one reason I never liked those guys. Bum Phillips said it best "They can be "America's Team" just as long as we are "Texas' Team".

If Dallas is America's team then just consider me a Texan.

I could just see Irvin and Emmit going nuts over a bunch of Texan players and fans calling themselves America's Team. Especially if we had won a SB, man that would be just to funny. Put a sign up outside of Reliant or something like that. Lol! Jerry would have a heart attack.

I've always hated it to, but how funny would it be to steal that title away from them? Then we could embrace it.

I wouldn't care for it a bit. It would be more insulting to call us "Texas' Team". America's team just means a bunch of bandwagoners. Real Texans are Texans fans and root for the team that means HOME, bandwagon Americans root for the Cowboys because they have no identity themselves (of course that does not apply to people in or from the DFW area).

When I lived out of state (PA, NY) if I had an Oiler shirt on people would always ask me if I was from Texas. If I had a Cowboy shirt on they would just think I was just another smuck that didn't root for the home team Eagles or Giants.

I hear ya and I understand exactly where you're coming from, but I'd be okay with it, especially knowing that Cowboys fans hated it. It would be like stealing their wife or something like that.

I really like the Texas' Team label. It is slyly suggestive of Texas' one-time staus as a country all it's own. Besides, I really could do without any hand-me-downs from the other Texas team.

I would like to see Emmitt and Michael blow a gasket over it though...lol.
