Newbie to Tailgating..... - Houston Texans Message Board & Forum

Hey everyone! Me and a couple of friends have been wanting to join in the tailgating fun but have only been to the stadium once for the pre-season game against the cowgirls and walked around the blue lot for a while before heading in and everyone does an amazing job putting everything together! Nothing like being around tons a people cheering on the same team...

So how does this work? We dont want to just walk up to someones tent and mooch. We're more than willing to donate some dinero

and bring beer of course!

I'm really looking forward to this season and cant wait for the cowgirls game!

Don't over complicate things. Go buy an Old Smokey grill at Academy for $29. While you are there, pick up a large cooler for $40 and a couple of folding chairs for $15 each. Dig around in your garage or closet and find an old football. BAM. You now have your own tailgate party.

Fill cooler with beer and ice. Drive to stadium. Throw a couple of brats on the grill. Open a beer. Toss football around. Now you can walk right up to any fellow tailgater as and equal (not a mooch) and start a conversation. Fun ensues. Park in the same place every week and I guarantee you'll have plenty of new friends by the end of the season.

OR~

You can walk from the Blue Lot to the far northwest corner of the Platinum Lot and find the Blue Crew Tailgate. There are a lot of posters from this site. Come on down, throw your beers in one of our coolers, put your money in your pocket, and join in on the festivities. We start at 7AM and meet up after the game too.

We have many things going on at various tailgates including a visit from the Bull Pen Band, Bull Pen Shots and a toast, a pinata for the kids, Beer Pong, and Corn-holing (still not comfortable with that word).

Ask for TedC and I will show you around!

So I cant go to the game. Too much money.

I have given thought to tailgating instead. Are there TVs outside that show the game anyone can watch?

I always thought tailgating is cool and want to do it one day when season tickets make sense.

Thanks for the advice man but I dont have a parking pass...But for the future I will defenitely try and bring some stuff out there

Sounds like tons of fun...I will have to take you up on the invite...do all of yall go inside once the game starts or are there still some people that stay and watch the game?

TEDC will take care of you just fine at the Blue Crew. They are good folks.

Yea I've been in Mo City for just a couple years...I've stayed in Houston for most of my life and Sugarland for a year or so...

Everyone in blue crew goes inside to watch the game, there are no Tv's to watch the game at blue crew.

My guess is everyone has tickets to go in, no need to broing out and put up tv's or need for generator.
