From the fan side of it, no love lost. May be just a look-see for Zeke.

We had the same kind of sentiment for Steve Foley last year. I take fan comments with a grain if I don't know the posting history of the fan.

As far as who is on the roster at LB? ILB's in bold...

Jason Babin, Charlie Anderson, Anthony Dunn, Tyreo Harrison, Morlon Greenwood, DaShon Polk, Shantee Orr, Kailee Wong, Antwan Peek, DD Acholonu, Tim Cheatwood, Dave Moretti, Jamie Sharper, Troy Evans, Frank Chamberlin, Quincy Monk, & Antonio Rodriguez

Are they still planning on trying Cheatwood out at ILB? I think he may be a good fit there if he has any coverage skills...

i think moreno has a good chance to contribute this season. he had 95 tackles and 2 sacks when healthy on a very average chargers team in 2003, he was just injured last year. i think he will at least provide solid backup at ILB, at a good price.

vinny. arent greenwood and wong projected at ILB for next season (if jamie leaves)? otherwise moreno's a starter over Dave Moretti, Troy Evans, Frank Chamberlin, Quincy Monk, & Antonio Rodriguez.

Wong and the Texans have both denied moving him inside so far. We have a mini-camp shortly after the draft and we may be able to see better then. I think we will try to find an inside linebacker in the draft and the other guys on the roster are likely battling for depth and Special teams.

Moreno is a great locker room guy and he is great on ST and as a backup

Got to agree with you as I recall we hardly got any pressure on QBs and as I recall several games QB got hurried and an occasional knockdown but no sacks. If we can get more pressure make RB and TE stay to protect we can use our secondary to shut down passing game

Looks like the Texans are having an open try out for the 2nd ILB spot. they have essentially three players, Dashaon Polk, Zeke Moreno, and Frank Chamberlin who are all good special teams players. i see these guys sort in that Marlon McCree mold. Professional enough to start for you and will not be an embarassment, but a guy you are looking to replace in the off season if he is your starter.

These guys do not preclude the Texans from drafting an inside LB, but give them options if an ILB they like does not fall to them.

and Wong as well. Yah its gonna be an interesting training camp for the LBs.. I cant wait . I have my money on Wong starting with Polk as backup.. but I would be happy to see Chamberlin or Moreno come in and be surprisingly good.

chamberlin and moreno along with polk give us experience linebackers to play back-up and rotation for our two starting guys greenwood and most likely wong inside with babin and peek starting outside having anderson and either shantee orr or a drafted linebacker rotating with them

The Chargers fans at www.glorifythepast.com aren't too high on him, they say he's on the slow side.

well that's why he won't be a starter here...basically i see moreno the same as chamberlin...both are fighting against polk and evans for the back-up position...they won't be starters here

If the Texans were convinced of the Wong inside/Peek outside combo I think we would have seen more of it at the end of 2004 when Formen was hurt. Instead they started Polk leaving Wong outside and Peek coming in on passing situations.

Casserly claims that the Texans have not spoken with wong about moving inside and the fact they have signed 4 ILBs leaves me to believe that there is more than a shread of truth to that.

Overall, we fans like Peek more than the Texans. At every turn the Texans have had no issue with giving a starting position to a young unproven player scaling the scheme back if need be.

Of course, this is March and all of this could and probably will change, but my prediction of the starting LBs for 2005 Babin Greenwood one of three journeyman(Polk, Moreno, chamberlin) Wong.

Default Sharper

are we anticipating sharper being gone? I haven't heard anything about it, i thought he would be here for 1 more year and go as a free agent. Just call me clueless, thanks.
