Hey this is my mock that I am working on for the ESPN competition. Let me know what you think.
1. Alex Smith- He is the overall package and I give him the first pick because of his intelligence. 2. Ronnie Brown- If Saban plans on winning anytime soon he will need better than Lamar Gordon in the backfield 3. Braylon Edwards- Phil Savage is known for being unconventional in the draft they select this pick and take Jason Cambell in the second round to be their QB 4. Cedric Benson- Da Bears will not pass on a player that will anchor their offense for years 5. Caddy Williams- The Bucs really like Mike Williams, but they spent good money last year and this year on WR. So they pick one up in later rounds 6. Antrel Rolle- Titans need a shutdown corner and this is the best in the draft. You may disagree, but just watch tape of him and Jones and you will understand 7. Mike Williams- Regardless of the players they have signed they make this pick. Daunte desperately needs a red-zone threat and his small fast receivers are not it 8. Aaron Rogers- They get him nice and low, but may trade out of this spot in order to get more picks. Rogers feels like the luckiest man alive going to Arizona. Have you seen their 3 wideouts 9. Washington-Trade to Houston(1st,Sharper,5th)- Derrick Johnson- The Texans have to make a move to get the best defensive playmaker in the draft, next year’s crop of linebackers will not have a player the caliber of DJ 10. Shawn Merrimen- His hype and workouts have catapulted him up draft boards. Detroit makes this pick cause Barron is a reach as a top 10 pick 11. Dan Cody- He is the intense pass-rusher the Boys have been looking for since TooTall Jones. I HATE THE COWBOYS 12. Marcus Spears- He is the prototype 3-4 end. It helps that he will be able to get outstanding pressure 13. Washington-From Houston- Adam Jones- IMO he is the third best corner in the draft, but his hype and some decent workouts have him going to Washington who should spend their next pick on a pass rusher 14. Alex Barron- Carolina has made excellent strides on D this offseason, now they shore up that inconsistent line with a nice OL 15. Carlos Rogers- The second best CB IMO in the draft. They will likely sign Law, but Rogers will be a solid starter for years to come opposite him 16. Demarcus Ware- This kid is awesome and will be a sleeper pick. Think a young Lavar Arrington that is a little bit rawer. The kid is a prototype OLB in any system. 17. Travis Johnson- Cinci needs some inside push and this is the best DT on the board 18. Thomas Davis- Yeah they signed Sharper, but Davis can play Safety or OLB in the Vikings system it is a win win 19. Shaun Cody- The Rams locked up their LT and need a RT but they desperately need a pass-rusher since it is likely they lose Fischer 20. Troy Williamson- The Cowboys get the speed receiver they need. Did I Mention I HATE THE COWBOYS 21. Justin Miller- The Jags need someone to play opposite Rashean Mathis if they hope to compete in the AFC South 22. Roddy White- He has speed and his size puts him above Mark Clayton on the Ravens draft board even though it should not 23. Matt Roth- Seattle upgrades their D-line with a great motor pass rusher who will compliment whomever plays opposite him. Look for the Hawks to try and pick up Linebackers in the next rounds 24. Erasumus James- Jim Bates system will run nicely with a compliment to KGB. Shame James injuries will have him drop this far 25. David Pollack- The Broncos need a pass-rusher so bad it hurts, hell they need a lot of things but Pollack is too good to pass up at this spot. They could possibly go CB if they don’t sign back Herndon 26. Corey Webster- The Jets need a corner bad and this guy will just help Henderson’s aggressive defense system 27. Kevin Burnett- His sideline to sideline speed will help their slowing Linebacker crew 28. Mark Clayton- They get the best after-catch playmaking receiver in the draft and a possible instant starter and return man 29. Barrett Rudd- The Colts need help in the defense department and this kid will be like the second coming of Marcus Washington 30. Heath Miller- Big Ben needs a tight end that can catch and block. Even though they may look to grab an OL to add depth, replace losses, and add youth 31. Khalif Barnes- They make this pick because they need a RT since they lost Mayberry and with Andrews coming back from injury they have two young solid OL. They have two high second round picks that they will use on LB, WR, or D-line 32. Marlin Jackson- Some people like Fabian Washington, but the Pats like guys who can play a number of positions. Jackson gives them the freedom to either move Eugene Wilson back to corner or let Jackson take over |

That trade would be too risky, cleveland just might grab DJ or even Tennessee

Fellas we dont make the trade unless he has fallen to us. That would be stupid to draft into the top 5 for DJ when we can get a shutdown corner at 13. If he does fall pass Minn. look for us to be on the phone trying to initiate a trade.

Why would we draft Derrick Johnson when we have Greenwood, babin, Peek, and wong.
If we do trade up to 9 it would be to get Barron or Williamson who we would have anyways. Maybe Clayton if you think hes the 3rd best WR in draft. THis is the Mock I post of the site... These picks are from people that know their teams and have game me their input on that team. I know there will be trades. but this is much more realistic 1. 49ers Aaron Rodgers QB 2. Dolphins Ronnie Brown RB 3. Browns Derrick Johnson LB 4. Bears Braylon Edwards WR 5. Buccaneers Cedric Benson RB 6. Titans Pacman jones CB 7. Viking Mike Williams WR 8. Cardinals Carnell Williams RB 9. Washington Redskins – Antrel Rolle CB 10: Lions: OT Alex Barron 11. Dallas: DE/LB Shawne Merriman 12. Chargers Marcus Spears DL 13 Texans troy Williamson WR 14 panthers Jamal Brown OL 15. Kansas City Chiefs - Erasmus James DE 16. Saints Channing Crowder LB 17. Cincinnati Bengals – Travis Johnson, DT 18. Vikings Thomas Davis S 19. Rams – Khalif Barnes OL 20. Cowboys – Mark Clayton, WR 21. Jacksonville Jaguars – Shawn cody USC 22. Baltimore Ravens – David Pallock De 23. Seattle Seahawks – Carlos Rodgers CB 24. Green Bay Packers Alex Smith QB 25. Denver Broncos – Mike Roth DL 26. New York Jets – Adam Terry OT 27. Atlanta Falcons – Antaj Hawthorne, DT 28. San Diego Chargers – Elton Brown OL 29. Colts Justin Miller CB 30. Steelers Kevin Burnett, OLB 31. Philadelphia Eagles – Darryl Blackstock LB 32. New England Patriots - David Baas OL |

I really doubt DJ falls to 9, but if he did, I wouldn't be against trading up for him...That said, I find it funny that people are going out of their way to find some sort of way that DJ will be in steel blue next year...

I have heard that Williamson impressed Capers.. he has one of the fastest 40's in draft. Good hands. Dangerous COmbo..
Now if Barron or Barnes is there which i am sure there is a good possibility that all 3 could be there i think we take OL. Boy i tell you though i dont know how any one can pass on williamson though thats atuff one.. Some one to give A. Johnson that man coverage... he was #1 in yards after catch... We do have to block to have time to get him the ball though. |

The problem I have with the trade is that it's the only one in the first round. Why make a trade with Houston/Washington just so you can put the Texans in a position to take a player you really want them to (based on your previous draft where you had Johnson available at #13) but then ignore other potential trade scenarios for other teams?
You're better off leaving the trade scenario out of it and just have Houston take their player at #13 (even if it means missing out on DJ). |

I dont see a possible way DJ will come here anyways. We already have 4 starters and some depth. I cant see a LB being drafted til 4th round.

Ya'll still have to remember, we did sign these LBs but they still have to make the team. Remember, contracts are not guaranteed. So, if we can strike a deal to get DJ, then by all means lets Git-R-Dun!!

It seems we're basically having an open tryout for our starting LB spots, so why not add another into the mix? I'm all for taking a LB in the 1st and letting the best 4 start...
