Possible solution for LB injuries

I was thinking about the article in today's chron. about our LB injury issues. It's been said here many times that people would like to see us utilize the athleticism of Connor Barwin to contribute to that outside LB position. Is there any chance we go ahead and start giving him some reps there or are we too late in preseason to get that going.

I would think it would help if we included him at the OLB position when we are blitzing everybody or something.

I like it, but at the same time I dont know if it happens. Yes he has all the athletic ability in the world. However, he is so new to defense, and I would prefer him to just stick to learning that position.

A guy I ask all of you to watch is Isaiah Greenhouse, #61. Great special teams guy, I think he has an outside shot to stick on the 53 due to that and injuries.

He's already dropping back in coverage and playing with his hand up.

Barwin played quite a bit as a LB in our 3-3 last year.
They want him play standing up and moving around from side to side, from the LOS back to the LB level and vice versa.

And some of us had also noticed him at DT this PS.

I've posted right after last year draft that Barwin has hip flexibility of a good LB. He certainly can do it.
That was one of the reasons why I thought we might have some 3-4 looks this year. (And then all these injuries happened! Crap!)
