I just heard it on National Sports Radio. Looks like he has a hole in his heart and his career may be over.

wish him all the best & hopes he makes a full recovery
my most fond memory of Tedy is before the last Superbowl (#39) out there on the field playing tag with his two toddlers (looked like twin boys) as they bull rushed him down to the turf, no I stand corrected that was a great memory and a lesson to all what is really important in life. |

I had been wondering how he was coming along. I would guess that his playing days are over now. With the broken blood vessel in his head and now the hole in his heart, he's so lucky to be alive.
Hope they can repair the damage so he can live to enjoy his family, and keep his memories of the last few years. |

Time to move on. He always seems to prefer to be with his family. Good for him. I don't think this will be a case of a player who tries desperately to hold on to his playing days. Good luck Tedy.

All of this to worry about on top of his health. That's rough.

Its sad that money would even be an issue at this point in time. Teddy definitely has some very serious health issues, and the last thing he needs is for the Pats to be putting pressure on him about honoring contracts or not! I really don't think the Pats want to deal with the media fallout that will occur if they give this boy any trouble.

If the pats brought up the contract issue, I think that they might just beat out Al Davis as the most hated figure in football.

Patriots | Bruschi a Regular at Team HQ - from www.KFFL.com
Thu, 31 Mar 2005 11:58:09 -0800 The Associated Press reports New England Patriots LB Tedy Bruschi (stroke) has been a daily visitor to the team's headquarters six weeks after suffering a stroke. "He comes in regularly. "It was a serious situation, and he's getting better," head coach Bill Belichick said, according to the MetroWest Daily News. "Tedy is Tedy. He's an upbeat guy. He has a smile on his face like he always does." This is good to hear, I am glad he is doing better. I hope he makes a full recovery...

Surprising news there.
But, from that article .. "Bruschi's agent, Brad Blank, said yesterday he had spoken with Bruschi in the last couple of days but the linebacker hadn't indicated he had made any decision about playing in 2005." He has some heavy-duty thinking to do. His agent needs to back off and let Tedy make his own decisions about his life and future. ''I'm just taking my time making sure things are right," Bruschi said at the Patriots' Super Bowl ring ceremony in June. ''Just living one day at a time right now. |

He is the most important player on that defense.
The only thing worse for that team is to lose Tom Brady. The Dynasty is over.

Tedy Bruschi has decided to sit out the 2005 season while he continues to recover from a mild stroke suffered in mid-February. The Patriots issued a statement through media relations director Stacey James Wednesday afternoon.

This was the best decision for Tedy and his family. Every Patriot fan I know is supporting him 100%, even though we'll miss him on the field. Anything less would just be inhuman!
And, for the record, EVERY report I've read has said that the Patriots are honoring Bruschi's contract regardless of whether he plays or not. The Krafts are quality people, and good businessmen. They know the potential fallout of leaving one of our most beloved sports heroes high and dry. If they were to screw Tedy over in any way, I'd be the first one to stand up and denounce the team. As for the "dynasty is over" talk... well, I've heard that kind of talk before, and the Patriots seem to just keep overcoming one injury after another. So I guess we'll see. I like that line of thought, actually... it gives Belichick the "disrespect card," which is getting harder to come by with all those Lombardi trophies at Gillette Stadium!

I am not sure the dynasty is over, but the road to the Super Bowl got a lot harder for them this off season. I suspect the Colts will be the AFC champs this year. Actually I hope they don't make it, but they seem the most likely at this point.
