Hey all. I am the commish in a yahoo league with some buddies again this year, and am trying to figure out what I want to do with the QB position. Now that the league is so pass happy the top QB's are picking up 300-350 points with a basic setting of 1 point for every 25 yards and 4 points for every TD.
Example: Eli Manning - 10th Best QB last season. passing yards: 4,021 = 160 points passing TD's: 27 = 108 points Interceptions: 14 = -28 points Fumble Lost: 1 = -2 points Season Total: 238 points Chris Johnson 1st. Best RB last season. Best fantasy player. Rushing Yards: 2,006 = 200 points Rushing Touchdowns: 14 = 84 points Receiving Yards: 503 = 50 points Receving Touchdowns: 2 = 12 points Fubles Lost: 3 = -6 points Season Total: 340 (Yahoo says he ended up with 328 for some reason.) Eli Manning should not be 100 points shy of canceling out CJ. Or AD. Heck, Schaub had 333 points. I am thinking of making passing 30 yards for 1 point. Or leaving the QB the same and tacking on a rushing bonus at 100 yards = +6. And receving 100 yards = +6. What do yall think? Suggestions?

Points per reception might not be a bad idea.

I've always been of the opinion that RBs are vastly overvalued in FF. It's always been that way because early scoring systems resulted in it. The way scoring systems are these days, you can basically set your league so that any position, or no position, is valued more than another. Personally, I have no problem with the elite QBs being at the top of the scorer's list. I also have no problem with elite RBs or WRs being at the top of the scorer's list. In my ideal league, WRs, RB, and QBs are intermingled at the top of the scorer's list. All else being equal, a middle-of-the-road QB, WR, and RB would all score similarly as well. JMO.

In my league we have passing yards at 50 per point. It seems to help balance out a little bit.

It's because if he gets 89 yards in a game, he only gets 8 points, not 9. Throughout the season these remainders add up and make the actual number of points received look smaller than the actual number of yards for the season.
