What does getting him signed have to do with keeping him off the practice squad?

Allright! One more in the fold. I think we'll really enjoy watching this guy develop as he's learning behind the best in the business. Sure hope he becomes the "steal" that's been mentioned so many times.

I am really excited about Dickerson. He could be the next Marques Colston!!!

Hopefully injuries don't cause him to get significant playing time too early. I am very comfortable with our top 4 WRs (AJ, KW, JJ, and DA). Having a developmental prospect with Dickerson's potential is just icing on the cake.

Not to mention what he can bring to the table on special teams. Joe Marciano is gonna have a field day with a guy like Dickerson who has WR speed and isn't afraid to get physical as evidenced by his stint as a LB during college.

Dorin's (20th of the 7th, 227 overall) contract is 4 years, $1.84 million. Troy Nolan's (14th of the 7th, 223 overall) contract was 4 years, $1.808. Sounds about right to me considering the % it rises every year.

The practic squad isn't formed until after all the pre-season cuts are made. His contract signing here doesn't matter in terms of whether or not he is on the practice squad. Yes, players can be claimed by another team, but in relative terms it is done a low percentge of the time, because the team claiming the player has to place the practice squad player on the regular roster.

That's what I'd read here before but on NFLN the preseason show of Hard Knocks, Dallas had a player they place on the PS and Philly offered him more money but to go on their PS and he chose to stay with Dallas. So do they or don't they have to be placed on the team?

A player on the practice squad can negotiate with any team. If they sign with a new team they have to be placed on the 53 man roster for three games. So they can choose to stay on the practice squad if they want.

Not to be a buzz kill but outside of them both being WRs drafted in the 7th round there is very little similarity between Dickerson and Colston. Dickerson is a superior athlete that is just now really focusing on being a WR. Colston didn't have the measurables but he played like a 10 year vet right out of the gate. Even size wise they are different with Colston being taller and Dickerson thicker. Doesn't mean I'm not a huge Dickerson fan, I look forward to watching his progress but he might not catch a single pass this entire season. Going to have to make an impact on ST this year. Even down the road I would be shocked if he ever reached Colston's level but it would certainly be nice.

I have a question that I didn't see the answer to in this document that pertains to the pay of drafted rookies who end up on the PS. If a drafted rookie signs his rookie contract, like Dickerson, and then doesn't make the 53 man roster, but is put on the PS, does he:

A) lose his contract and gets paid the weekly PS wage?
B) still get paid by his contract and not the PS wage?
C) get a partial payment from the contract plus the PS wage?
or
D) get paid some other way not listed?

What is it TTP always says? Inquiring minds want to know!
