But, with 2 weeks left until TC, it's a little strange to see NOT ANY 1st Rounders and ONLY ONE 2nd rounder sewn up. Will this be a year of the "chicken." Here's hoping that, independent of what happens with the rest of the teams, our front office blinks first.
[From the NFL Labor site] Two weeks ‘til camp: Nearly half of draft picks signed With the first training camp opening in exactly two weeks 47 percent of this year’s draft choices have signed contracts. Through July 8 (based on official notification to the league office), 119 of the 255 players selected in the 2010 NFL Draft have signed contracts – up from 39 percent of draft choices (101 of 256) signed as of July 8, 2009 and 29 percent of selections (73 of 252) signed as of July 8, 2008. These things can get done in a flurry too though. I'm semi-expecting a 2 or 3 day holdout from Kareem just because we'll be waiting on Haden to get done which could take a while. I expect everyone else to be in camp on time though, especially Tate given the time he's already missed.

I'm a bit surprised that Dickerson has not signed yet.

Often the hold-u is no more than the team and agent communicating with later round draft picks. The 1st and 2nd rounders a litle more concern once it gets under a week or so.

Can't think of any reason unless he's injured with a question mark.......or with his "change of position" or potential double duty, he has reassessed his value significantly above the Texans'. |

From reading his twitter comments early on, I would say it was a combination of his (or his agent's) perceived value, and the Texans wondering about his maturity leve and ability to grasp the concept of the NFL.

I can't remember specific posts, but I have been following him on twitter since the draft. He tweeted a whole bunch of stuff that made me say "Whoa, somebody needs to tell this guy that the Texans FO doesn't like to see this kind of stuff. Usually just immature stuff like cursing and showing pics of playing stupid pranks and what not. Nothing serious, but a little troubling and made me wonder about his maturity in the back of my mind. Could be that I'm just a bit old school and think that a rook should be quiet and humble.
Ya know, just a gut feeling for me. I could be totally wrong. Time will tell.
