We are seven weeks away from the 2010 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game. It is on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010. Cincinnati Bengals will face the Dallas Cowboys. AWESOME!

Pittsburgh #3? Was this written by a Steelers fan?

I'm not much on rankings top to bottom, in general. But, I think the Cards, Eagles, Texans, and Chargers are better than suggested here. While the Pack, Broncos, and Steelers are over ranked.

So which division has been the best the past 2 seasons combined?

Well, that all depends on what categories you use to distinguish what makes a division the best.

If it is wins, then your answer is the AFC South.

If it’s the best offense and defense combined category,the NFC East was best.

If it is a combination of the two factors, well then it's the NFC South.

Best Division in the NFL

So we know where the divisions have ranked in the past two seasons, but just as they have not always been that way, they will not remain that way, and to assume so is ludicrous.

This is not a 2009 Power ranking of where the divisions will stand when it is all said and done but rather a 2010.

NFC East has the Eagles trading Donovan McNabb to the Redkins who have a new system to contend with executing this season with an overrated coach who may have well been nothing more than the product of his coaching staff and players like Clinton Portis, Brandon Marshall and John Elway etc. Giants were 8-0 last season, Eli has proven to be mediocre. NFC East takes a drop and how this season.

AFC South: Colts can't carry entire division to the top. How many years have I come to this board before the season starts and rave about how spectacular the Texans are going to be this season? Well?

We can't take for granted that the Texans had the division tied to the whipping post of the league to jack their stats up with last season in the NFC West.

Thing is the Texans took a step back defensively this season. That is the last thing, last seasons 17th ranked scoring defense needed; especially with this schedule.

Jaguars stink, Vince Young is a joke. These two teams are sending the AFC South plummeting this season, and where that drop stops depends on how the head to head goes between the AFC Soth and AFC West. I like the West this season.

Texans are not an elite team, Vikings and Packers are elite teams in this league. Bear's and Lions are on the rise and with them so too is the NFC North.

I´m not sure if they really took a step back, but I think the loss of DR will hurt us more, than most people here expect. Having a veteran back there surely really helped Glover Quin for example... right now we don`t have a #1 CB, we just have to hope that Jackson or Quin can step up...

Oh, and of course playing 4 games without BC will hurt us as well. This season will be tough! But with a better running game, better kicking (hopefully) and a defense that is about on par with last season, we should be in a good spot in this years playoff hunt.

Seriously, why do people think the loss of Dunta is going to hurt the Texans? Did y'all even watch Dunta play last season, because I did....and he sucked. He had no closing speed, got beat deep, and when he wasn't getting beat deep, is was because he was holding on for dear life and picking up PI penalties.

I bet Kareem Jackson comes in here and plays better than Dunta "I can't believe the Falcons actually gave me that contract" Robinson.

There's other reasons that you can list on why the Texans won't be a elite team or not make the playoffs this year. I actually think the loss of Dunta Robinson will help Houston......mainly because he was terrible last year. Glover Quin was much better.

Just because National media has been wrong the last couple years that the Texans would make playoffs doesn't mean that it won't happen this year. The idea that "well, since we thought it last year and it didn't happen, it's not gonna happen this year either" is garbage.

Same thing with Texans fans and DTs. Just because our last couple first round DT picks haven't panned out, should we completely stop drafting for DT in early rounds, even when it continues to be a weakness? No! Just because the past says otherwise, it doesn't mean the future is going to be the same, especially in sports.

As far as stepping back defensively, there are two factors that you bring up: The "loss" of Dunta Robinson and the suspension of Brian Cushing.

As far as Dunta is concerned, he was average. At best. Kareem Jackson will hopefully come in and play nicely, and Brice McCain was a pleasant surprise last year. At times, I wished he was starting instead of Dunta. It's an easy line for columnists to throw out that the Texans lost DR, so that makes their secondary weaker, but it's not as true as they would like to believe. Glover Quin will also hopefully continue in his solid play, he was our best corner last year.

Regarding Brian Cushing, linebacker has to be one of our deepest positions, I'm not too worried about it. He will definitely be missed, but we are fairly strong at LB.

NIce post Mike! I think too many people are getting hyped up over Chicago. they may be better than last year, but Cutler is going to get killed in Martz offense, and we will hear whining like never before from him.

And Detroit will be better than last year, but how much is that saying?
