Because the cops are now going to try and see if the casings match the casings found in the 2008 shooting that injured Dwight Dixon in the hand, along with a bystander (shot in the back by a stray 9mm bullet) and lastly a boy who was injured by shattered glass while sitting in a car nearby.

Surely he would have disposed of the 9mm he had back in 2008 when the shooting happened. There's no way he would have retained it. Right?

If he gets pegged, due to it being the 9mm used in the shooting, it will go down as maybe one of the dumbest things ever: Driving the wrong way down a street just a few blocks from where your business is located. All because of a routine stop and an observation by a police officer.

The guy who was the original target of the 2008 shooting, Dwight Dixon, was later fatally shot in a still-unsolved crime.

Marvin Harrison, the former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver whose role in a 2008 shooting is under investigation by the Philadelphia district attorney, was ordered to surrender a 9 mm handgun to police Wednesday during a routine traffic stop.

Harrison was stopped at approximately 5 p.m. on the 2700 block of Jefferson Avenue in Philadelphia about three blocks from a garage he owns, according to two law enforcement sources. The garage was the site of a 2008 shooting in which three people were injured. Two of the victims accused Harrison of firing the shots, but he has not been charged in the case.

The 37-year-old former Pro Bowl receiver was driving the wrong way down the one-way street in a Cadillac Escalade when the patrolman stopped him along with the driver of a second car that was trailing him, the sources said.

According to the two law enforcement sources, the patrolman saw Harrison place something that appeared to be a weapon in the seat console of his car. When the officer asked him to step out of the vehicle, Harrison produced a car registration and a permit to carry a weapon, both of which were in order. When he was asked whether he had a weapon, however, he answered no, the sources said.

At that point, the sources added, the officer said that he had probable cause to search the vehicle and found a weapon.

The sources said Harrison was being questioned at the Philadelphia Police Department's special investigations unit Wednesday evening. The department's public information office did not answer calls or e-mails seeking comment.

Harrison has been labeled a "person of interest" in the April 2008 shooting, which started when he had an altercation near his garage with Dwight Dixon, an ex-con who frequented the neighborhood. Dixon was shot once in the hand after an argument. A bystander was hit in the back with a stray bullet, and a boy sitting in a car was injured by shattered glass.

Dixon was later fatally shot in a crime that remains unsolved.

A lingering mystery from the initial shooting involving Dixon is three spent 9 mm shell casings that ended up in Dixon's truck. Dixon said they came from a second weapon fired by Harrison, but no weapon was ever recovered.

The police department source said that as a matter of routine, Harrison's gun will be tested to see whether it matches those casings. It was unclear Wednesday evening when the tests would be done.

The Philadelphia district attorney, Seth Williams, has said that he has considered filing an array of charges against Harrison related to the 2008 incident and that it is "something that we will consider in the future." But Williams said he wants to wait until an investigation into Dixon's shooting is complete.

A lawyer for Harrison, Thomas Wagner, has previously said that his client "emphatically denies" the allegations but would have no comment because of two pending civil suits from the 2008 incident. Wagner could not be reached for comment Wednesday night.

I was in mixed company when one of our group, a really funny guy with a sharp sense of humor, made a statement to the group. He was a little drunk, no...correction: He was VERY drunk...and so he looks at the lone female in the group and asks her "You know what 69 is, right?"

Two of the guys grabbed him and said, "Let's walk over here for awhile," and they led him to his bunk where he promptly fell asleep. Next day, he doesn't remember anything. We tell him what he said to the lady, and he just sat there and stared at the floor. "Hmmm...well, that was a good joke alright. Probably wasn't the best of timing, though, was it?" He went and found her that day and apologized. All was well.

LOL. Oh man it was a classic moment. Etched in my memory forever. We were just all so mortified.

Considering she was the only lady in the group, I would say she handled it pretty well. Who knows what she really felt, though.

The next day, when he apologized, she slapped him on the back and said she appreciated the apology but that she was never offended.

It was a Michael Scott "cringe moment" like when you watch him do something awful in The Office and you just scrunch your face up and think "How could he SAY that?!?" LOL.

For much of the last few years, Harrison has generated more headlines for his alleged links to the shootings than for the outstanding skill he once displayed on the football field.

Local resident Dwight Dixon claimed that Harrison shot him in the hand on April 29, 2008, after the two fought near Harrison's garage at 25th and Thompson street in North Philly.

Another man, Robert Nixon, claimed he was wounded in the back by an errant shot fired by Harrison.

Police later said ballistics evidence proved that several shots had been fired that day by a gun Harrison admitted to owning.

Charges were never filed, however, because then-District Attorney Lynne Abraham said Dixon, Nixon, Harrison and several others told numerous contradictory stories about the shooting. Dixon and Nixon filed civil suits against Harrison.

On July 21, 2009, Dixon was riddled with gunfire on Girard Avenue near 28th Street, two blocks from Harrison's bar, Playmakers. Dixon told police he believed Harrison was behind that shooting. Dixon died two months later. His slaying remains unsolved.

Earlier this year, District Attorney Seth Williams said Harrison was a "person of interest" in the case.
