Trindon Holliday agrees to contract

The Texans agreed to contract terms today with sixth-round pick Trindon Holliday, the wide receiver/kick returner from LSU.


Holliday, who'll return kicks and be incorporated into the passing game, is the first draft choice in the NFL to sign.

The 5-5, 160-pound Holliday brings world-class speed to the Texans. He ran an official time of 4.34 at the NFL combine in February and won the 100-meters at the 2009 NCAA outdoor track championships with a time of 10 seconds flat.

Great call! I think this little waterbug is gonna give our team a tremendous boost. He is very versatile, and as they say " speed kills". We have had some fast guys (Mathis, Davis, Jones); but nothing like the moves this cat can bring.

Sooner or later he's going to find a crease and there will be much screaming and cheering..... and that's just at my house, much less Reliant!

Yep.

This may be premature, but I think he can get 7-8 TDs this year. A handful on special teams, and 1 or 2 on offense.

Sooner or later, someone out there is going to remind him the hard way that 5'5" and 160 in the NFL is not quite the same as 5'5" and 160 in college. He'll definitely be running with a sense of urgency, though.

I can see him getting us good field position on kick returns pretty regularly. The question is, will he stay healthy?

He could be really dangerous on punt returns as well if Jacoby is taking more reps at receiver.

Yeah, if he's smart - he'll be running scared. Fear is a great motivator when it comes to grabbing an extra gear.
