This guy should fit the Texans to a T.
Would be a great value on the second day. May turn out to be better than several first day picks. Thoughts? |

Height: 6-0. Weight: 186. Projected 40 Time: 4.48. Combine 40 Time: 4.43. Pro Day 40 Time: DNP. Benchx225: 7. Vertical: 44. Projected Round (2010): 3-4. 3/3/10: Mike Mayock repeatedly praised A.J. Jefferson during the Combine. Jefferson, who is 6-0 with long arms, ran a 4.43 and notched a 44-inch vertical. He's a project, but has a ton of upside. 1/9/10: A poor year for A.J. Jefferson; he averaged just 23.2 yards per kickoff return - down a whole six yards from last year. 3/7/09: Not much of a corner, but A.J. Jefferson had yet another kickoff return for a touchdown as a junior. He averaged a dazzling 29.3 yards per return. 8/5/08: A.J. Jefferson is listed here as a kick returner. He scored two touchdowns on special teams last year, and even maintained the nation's top return average. He also blocked a field goal and returned that for a score. Maybe our DB Coach..Coach Gibbs feels the same way...good grab in the 4th

By second day, do you mean third day?
Rounds 2-3 or rounds 4-7?

Sounds like a good value in the 4th round if he's there. The Texans could use another KR to replace the aging Davis.

Even though he might got selected in the third. Some would consider him a reach in the third, but I've seen him in the second round on some draft board. When I have a chance, I will put together some scouting notes on him. For some reason, it seems that the info on him shows a lot of inconsistency, which I don't see a whole lot of (not neccessarily untrue.) This guy looks to have very good potential. I think he has a very decent chance to become a starter in the NFL. |
