Joe Haden...thoughts on him as a prospect?

Probably not the only, but definitely the minority. Haden was a great corner in the SEC. Now people want to drop him because of a poor combine showing?

Haden is still the best CB prospect in this draft, even if you count Thomas as a CB.

I honestly just don't think he brings a lot to the table as far as an NFL prospect. And it's not even his slow 40 time that gets me. It's a combination of things. The first thing is that he is not a physical player, and doesn't tackle too well. His size is not a problem, but it's not impressive. Usually when players aren't as physical, they usually are speed demons. Haden is not.

Although this guy isn't a flat-out playmaker, he clearly possesses the ability to do some very good things and make a good amount of plays. He also played well against elite competition, which says something. These things are good obviously, but I just don't see enough in him that makes me feel like he is a top prospect.

Were there any elite passing attacks in the SEC? A great conference. Probably the best in college football. But it doesn't have the caliber of passing attacks seen in the Big 12 or the ACC.

I think we're looking at a deep crop of good, but not great corners. And depending upon the type of pass defense a team employs, Haden is at the top of the list. In a Tampa 2 defense, Haden should shine. But, he could struggle if asked to play on an island and turn and run with the bigger, faster WRs.

agreed. And i don't believe that Kubiak and Smith will panic like lot of the board appears to be doing at the loss of Robinson. Whether he's already on the roster or not they will find someone who will step up. I don't necessarily believe he has to be a first rounder. From my perspective, there are few on the the board who will measure up to Brice McCane or Grover Quinn. And they already have a years experience under their belts. Can never have too many of them though so it's always a possibility. I just haven't seen anything in their history which says Smith and Kubes will panic. Actually their history has been quite the opposite. They'll draft a starter with their first round pick. they'll reach for corners latter. My take anyway, with all due respect to Solomon Wilcox, path to the Draft, and the NFLn.
