Though I never was a Cowboys fan, I respected their great teams of the early and mid 90s. Arguably the greatest teams ever - I'll give them that and they deserved the kudos they got because of their performance on the field. But this team is something much different than those teams, and yet the PR machine keeps cranking out BS at a high velocity. Their "star" skill players(Testeverde, Keyshawn, and George) are all 30 something, retreads discarded by other teams (except for Testerverde, who is 40 something). Their coach is hardly a standard of Cowboy coaching types - he's an elderly, way-over-weight "Jersey guy" who when addressing the press in N.Texas says to them in a distainful manner "you guys down here", as if he's someone from the NY metro area in some foreign land only for a temporary visit - which is pretty much the case.
Compare their personnel with our top skill guys (Carr, Davis, Johnson) - young, exciting, whole carreer in front of them - with David the old man at 25. Yea it's kind of frustrating for a Texans fan - were just gonna have to win some games to get the kind of publicity we deserve. |

Julius Jones is a rookie. He's their running back of the future.
Drew Henson is a "rookie" if you will. He's their QB of the future. Not so old when you look at it that way. |

What is this BS that is being cranked out by the media? Have you seen one article claiming that this year's team is headed for the Super Bowl...or even the playoffs?
Parcells has two Super Bowl rings...just like Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson. I'd say that's a spot-on match for standards. Who cares if he's from Jersey? Who cares if he's over-weight? Capers is from Ohio. 'Bout the only thing he has in common with Houston is that neither have been to a Super Bowl. Seriously, you're coming off as a whiner. |

I don't see the Cowboys as a playoff team this year at all.
Too many teams above them and a questionable offense with VT and questions at CB. I suspect they will be .500 and it usually takes 10 wins at least to even get in anymore. |

I don't see it either. In fact, I haven't heard from anybody that does. That's why I'm curious about the "BS" that is being put out by the "PR machine".

started last year and both were on the all rookie NFL team so they are already somewhat established. Jones and Henson may eventually be successful in the NFL, but right now they have yet to take a single snap between them in a regular season NFL game. I could also point to some pretty good rookie prospects we have (the names Robinson & Babin come to mind), but I'm far from ready to define them as our future. There's a big difference between established players with starting experience in the regular season and future prospects with only exhibition game experience. |

I was merely referring to the fact that not all Cowboys players are old and rusty. Parcells has always relied heavily on veteran teams. It's his M.O. Nobody expects anything out of Henson this year; he is definitely a work in progress. As for Jones it's certainly not within the realm of possibility that he can be a offensive weapon this year. Some rookies are you know. Dom Davis for instance. But certainly nobody would compare any QB on the Cowboys staff to David Carr. And I didn't compare Henson to Carr. I just said he's young and he's their QB of the future. Just as David was. |

"Young and exciting" mean squat. You want publicity? Win something. New England had the 3rd oldest roster with 10 starters over 30 last year. Think they care about "young and exciting"? |

It sure feels like the C'boys are several years behind the Texans ... maybe their fans will be patient. |
