One word can describe Tindal's game- Speed. Kelton Tindal is expected to run one of the fastest times ever recorded in the 40 at Newberry's pro day on the 29th.
Statistics 2006 Receiving: 26 receptions for 432 yards (16.6 average) and 2 TD Rushing: 10 attempts for 127 yards (12.7 average) and 1 TD Punt Return: 2 for 31 yards Kick Return: 9 for 169 (18.8 average) 2007 Receiving: 18 receptions for 284 yards (15.8 average) and 4 TD Rushing: 12 attempts for 85 yards (7.1 average) Punt Return: 1 for 24 yards Kick Return: N/A 2008 Receiving: 39 receptions for 745 yards (19.1 average) and 6 TD Rushing: 13 attempts for 24 yards (1.8 average) and 2 TD Punt Return: 1 for 14 yards Kick Return: 5 for 76 (15.2 average) 2009 Receiving: 33 receptions for 437 yards (13.2 average) and 4 TD Rushing: 11 attempts for 43 yards (3.9 average) Punt Return: N/A Kick Return: 17 for 371 (21.8 average) Analysis As you can clearly see, he was not a statistical demon, which most small school players must be to get a look at the next level. However, Tindal has (reportedly) sub 4.2 speed. Which means some team is going to give him a contract and see what he has going into camp. Positives As mentioned, speed. However, he also has the size (6'3" 200) to be a pro receiver. His hands are improving as well, he rarely bobbles the ball, and shows the ability to make catch a poorly thrown ball. He is also (reportedly) a hard worker and a good teammate. Negatives He does not have great lateral agility. Tindal excels when asked to run vertical routes, but struggles to run anything else. Also, he adds no value as a returner, he is strictly a receiver. Tindal is not a great blocker, which stems from his lack of strength. He also seems hesitant going over the middle. Draft Projection 7th Round Some team is going to become enamored with his raw speed. If he can learn to run routes better, and to move laterally a little better, Tindal could carve a niche for himself as a 3rd or 4th receiver and vertical threat. |

I think he'll be the second round pick nobody ever heard of. Remember Michael Mitchell being picked last year and even the announcers didn't know who he was? That was priceless.
