Carr Free Agency discussion/signs with 49ers

Cards have interest in signing QB David Carr, according to NFL sources. Carr will hit FA market Thursday night.

Citing multiple NFL sources, Cardinals beat writer Kent Somers reports that the team has interest in free agent David Carr.

Carr, 29, likely wouldn't pose a big threat for a starting job, so his signing could be something of a vote of confidence to Matt Leinart. The Cards are also interested in retaining incumbent third-string QB Brian St. Pierre, who is another unrestricted free agent. The two could compete behind Leinart.

Remember how he used to light'em up in practice though, so you never know....

I doubt he'd want to go to a team where he has an actual chance in becoming the starter. That would take time away from his daily routine.

Rumor has it that David will have some very specific demands if he's going to consider joining the Arizonians. They include but are not limited to:

1. A personal guarantee from Ken Whisenhunt that he will not be allowed to compete for or be considered for under any circumstances (including injury to all other QB's on the roster) the starting QB job.

2. A stipulation of maximum air temperature inside University of Phoenix Stadium in order to assure that it will not become uncomfortable to wear those cool looking white gloves while standing on the sidelines on game-day.

3. A guarantee that any member of the media - or random fan for that matter - will be permanently barred from all team facilities if at any time they refer to the team in print or over the air as the "Carr"dinals - thereby creating expectations, and putting pressure on poor David, or making fun of him, as the case may be.
