Where to do rate Brandon Ghee as far as Corners go and would you see him as a good fit for us? Not trying to derail the thread but I'm working on my annual multiple trade down mock draft right now

You've seen/done enough mocks here to know who is likely going to be available at 20. (We can't do trade ups or downs). And I'd like to pick someone that Texan fans really want at that spot. We are early in our mock so I don't know who is going to be left on the board.

I thought it would be fun to collect in one place those players who YOU think will be available at 20, and listing in order of preference who you would like with that pick.

Maybe list 5-7 guys in order of preference that you would like with the 20th pick?

I think that would be an interesting exercise, and I thank those in advance who participate.
If we don't put value in a ball hawk, I can see Mayes as the guy. He is just a complete non-play maker. I would like Earl Thomas a little more, since he could play both CB and FS.

Ghee looks pretty solid to me, viable option with 2nd pick if Texans take another position in first.

I think THomas will be gone @#20 but Wilson should be there & is my pick even if THomas available. If Wilson gone, have to go with Ryan Mathews. I like Gerhart more but Texans will go with Mathews over TG. On a mock a lot plays into who you think will be there in 2nd. My mock is 1.Wilson 2. Gerhart. If Wilson gone I go 1. Mathews 2. Perrish Cox CB.

I likely will be picking tonight or tomorrow, so keep your lists going......

So what you guys are saying is no one likes Mays at 20?
I think the consensus is that many thing he doesnt have first round skill to go with those first round measurables. Great measurables - average everywhere else.

1. Earl Thomas
2. Ryan Matthews
3. Brian Price
4. Kyle Wilson
5. Sean Weatherspoon
6. Taylor Mays
7. Mike Iupati

If Spiller falls (he won't) I'd probably grab him. Numbers 3-5 are pretty interchangeable for me, I can't decide which ones I like the best. I don't expect Thomas to be there for our pick so right now my money is on Matthews. As much as I want to continue to build up the defense I think he could give our offense a dimension we have never had. He could turn into a 14-1500 yard rusher by his 2nd or 3rd season which should match up nicely with this roster's window of opportunity.

My choices at this point would be:

1. Earl Thomas CB/FS
2. Kyle Wilson CB
3. Dan Williams DT
4. Ryan Mathews RB
5. CJ Spiller RB (I seriously doubt he'll be available so I put him fifth...if he was there when we pick, I'd have a hard time saying no)

Oh, I ended up taking....

C.J. Spiller.

Though I don't think he will be there at 20.

I'm interested in how you will fix the need for a back to move the pile and keep defense off the field or Manning for that matter? Also who do you give the ball to when it is first and one or two yard or within the five? Foster may be the guy. If so then Spiller is a great choice.

Which is why he will be taken in the 2nd rd instead of the 1st.

Ghee has more ability to cover better than any DB on the roster currently. IMHO

Last year all the talk was complementary back.

This year all the talk is running back.

I'm not sure Slaton can be the back of the future if the dude has his neck done put together. Even if he bounces back, do you want to give him a big contract?

So in this scenario, Foster is your big back, and Spiller is your Slaton 2.0 with fewer fumbles. They are not built the same, but Spiller can do those all-purpose yards.

I'm gonna be very interested to see where you put Haden in your amended Mock (and Mocks in general for that matter) post combine ?
And I guess if you take the Mays unofficial time (that would be the one recorded by his agent) he moves up the Board, otherwise the official 40 time for him wasn't really outstanding. But I hope he moves up so one more player useful to the Texans will move to their Board.

Yea Chick ... if we get to the goal line what are we gonna do .

Being real fast is as good or better than being real big .

In this sort of Mock, you're pretty restricted.

If we get into this situation with CJ Spiller falling to us, I think we strike a deal with the Chargers and trade back. But I seriously doubt CJ drops to us.

So Steph was put into a kind of a bad spot here. She took the BPA and there's nothing wrong with that.

You are going to take a corner with terrible hands in 2nd round? I guess he could jump up and try to knock the ball away with his head.
We will not have to worry about him intercepting and then fumbling will we?

I think Mathews offer better "all purpose yards" as I think Spiller will have same problems as Slaton. We don't have to worry about Slaton and another contract yet. I am hopeful Foster starts where he left off last 3 games. I am not against Spiller in first but if you do not get another RB later I would be very concerned.
