That would be a much better hire for the fish than anybody that I can think of.

Josh McDaniels is an *****.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...less-blitzing/

Quote:
As folks in Denver try to figure out why Mike Nolan is no longer the team's defensive coordinator, Ron Borges of the Boston Herald reports that the divorce was caused not by Bill Parcells sniffing around for someone to run Miami's defense, but by Broncos coach Josh McDaniels trying to tell Nolan how to do his job.

Per Borges, McDaniels told Nolan "in no uncertain terms" that the Broncos would be blitzing less frequently in 2010 than they did in 2009.

And so the two men decided to part ways.

A cynic might think that McDaniels simply wanted to hire former Patriots defensive coordinator Dean Pees, and that Pees possibly was motivated to add to the coaching staff a guy with NFL head-coaching experience, who could be a viable candidate to take over the Broncos on an interim basis if the 2-8 momentum to end McDaniels' first season continues into his second.

Doesn't mean it won't be awesome, but according to a Dolphins beat-writer who was interviewed on Collin Cowherd's show this morning, Nolan was the Dolphins 3rd choice behind Al Groh (who too the DC job at Georgia Tech), and Kevin Butler - Steelers LB coach (who opted to stay in Pittsburgh).

The guy they interviewed was very deferential to Parcells ability to put together a staff, but he did note that Nolan had been with 5 NFL teams since 2002, and speculated out loud that the Dolphins might be going after names as much as they're going after coaching talent. He noted that they'd also added recently fired Giants D-Coordinator Bill Sheridan as their LB coach.

Way to go McFailure. You took the 2nd best offense in the NFL and turned it in to the 15th, then turn around and fire the guy who actually improved the defense.

Hey, while you're at it why not try to run off your Pro Bowl QB and WR? Oh... wait, you did.
