Default Which Draft Pick....

Would you most like to re-do? Most likely it would be a first rounder, and there are quite a few to choose from. 2002 maybe? Alot of Pro Bowlers came after Used Carr... Maybe a second rounder somewhere?

I'm going with 2007. Amobi has been average, but not nearly worthy of the #10 pick. Patrick Willis, Michael Griffin and Darrelle Revis all came after #10. Revis for God's sake; the best shutdown CB in the NFL right now.

I would go with Tony Boselli's injured ass, and the way we were fleeced by the Jags but I won't even start on the expansion draft...

I have two

2002 - Julius Peppers instead of DC
2007 - Darelle Revis instead of Okoye.

I would take Jammal Brown instead of trading down to get Travis Johnson.

Cool Re: Which Draft Pick....

There are MANY players the Texans passed on but I'll just focus on the first round, so for me, here is my redo:

2002 NFL Draft - Julius Peppers

2004 NFL Draft - Tommie Harris, Chris Gamble

2005 NFL Draft - Logan Mankins

2007 NFL Draft - Darrelle Revis

This is just first round players, imagine our team if we had some of the guys in the later rounds like Ray Edwards for example!

2006 Round 7 pick 251 David Anderson changed to Marques Colston.

Revis gave up nearly twice as many yards and receptions as Asomugha on a team with a crazy passrush. In what universe is he the best shutdown corner?

I'm basing on the stats I saw during the last playoff game, where they should the big name receivers this year and what he allowed in yards. I think Andre had like 35 yards, among others.

Plus Mike Greenberg said so damn it!!!

Asomugha 21 receptions for 246 yards 1 TD
Revis 41 receptions for 425 yards 2 TDs

Booger Eater..... LMAO

Check out these stats. They tell a different story.

http://profootballfocus.com/by_posit...=25&numgames=1

Revis was thrown at 111 times and allowed 41 receptions - 37%.
Asomugha was thrown at 28 times and allowed 21 receptions -75%

I'll take Revis

They tell you that Aso scares the crap out of QBs so they don't bother throwing at him. Being thrown at 111 times is flat out disrespect.

Who wouldn't want a DB that gets thrown to only 28 times a season. That's not even twice a freaking game.

Nnamdi is still the best corner in the league hands down. And his teams defense is absolutely terrible at getting any kind of pass rush.

I agree Aso is good. But throwing 111 times at Revis is stupid when he only gives up 37% receptions. Hell I'd like to have them both on the Texans. Man can you imagine how much lumber Pollard could lay with 2 good cover corners like that....

Aso's stats are a bit misleading. Oppenents threw less against the Raiders than any other NFL team- 438 attempts. They ran way more against the Raiders, who gave up over 155 yards a game. So if less passes are thrown it looks like teams just didn't want to throw at you. Hell they didn't have to throw at you, they just run all over you. The Jet shut the run down so opponents had to throw the ball, and Revis shut them down to the tune of 37% completion against him. That is good.

So when they decided to throw, they threw at him at about roughly 7% of the time. Yeah I'll take it. Also, Aso holds down 'Dre regularly (since we seem to have annual meetings with Oakland) and 'Dre has even said he's the best corner in the league (this quote was taken before he played against Revis though, so I don't know if he's changed his mind).

But really it's like the Peyton Manning vs Tom Brady debate. You, me, and my retarded blind cousin would take either one to be on their team.

Default Re: Which Draft Pick....

I've talked about this before and it is without a doubt 2002. Getting the David Carr pick wrong set off a chain reaction that screwed up our team for most of the decade. That one pick had more negative influence on what followed than any other decision.

You take Carr instead of Julius Peppers and what happens?

First and foremost you have bought into a charismatic QB who you cannot develop. That means that you can't accurately gauge most of what you put around him. Is your offensive line complete crap or not? You don't know. Are your WR's worthless (excepting of course AJ who transcends the quality of his QB to some extent)? You don't really know because he never looks at them. Are your running backs lousy? You don't know because your running game lacks any appreciable complimentary passing attack. Worst of all he looks like a franchise QB. You like him. He's on the surface a clean cut family guy who you want so badly to believe in so you go years trying to make him something he isn't.

In the meantime franchise QB's are drafted by teams all over the league. We spend years replacing parts on the offensive line, our older defense grows ancient, and Domanick Davis limited shelf life is wasted.

Then once you figure out that Carr isn't the guy you still need a QB and he costs you two more 2nd round draft picks to get and you still need the pass rush you would have had for many years with Julius Peppers.

2003 round 2, I'll take Osi Umenyiora over Bennie Joppru.

Also, since the Texans took AJ in round one it wouldn't make sense, but they also had Anquan Boldin on the board in round 2.

In round 3 of 2003, Texans took Antwan Peek. The next two picks directly following were Lance Briggs and Jason Witten.

Redrafts are fun.

Oh hell, I found the best one yet. Better than Revis, even.

2004, round 4. Texans select Glenn Earl. Four picks later? KC selects Jared Allen.
