Full Color Football/History of the AFL

Just saw the first part on the NFL Network. I think it debuted on Showtime a couple months ago. Really enjoyed it and can't wait to see second part. I really recommend it to all football fans.

LOL. Yeah, caught this last night channel surfing and it was a good show. I'll have to make sure I catch part two.

Did you see the part where they described the AFL as the league with no rules? How some would bring a small pit and light it up in the aisle next to their seat!!! And how they would tap kegs also between the aisles.... Must have been crazy but fun.

Ohh.. and the fan who ran onto the field and deflected a pass at the end of a game involving the Dallas Texans causing them to lose, and nobody really noticed!!! They only saw it later on film...Hilarious...

Can someone explain to me how The Oilers won all those AFL Championships and they hardly get any mention at all. This show seemed to me like a Kansas City Chiefs Documentary.

I don't think the first two championship games were on TV. When the Oilers defended their crown for the third year, KC won in overtime on National TV. That is when the AFL really took off, with the power of television fueling the way, and the Oilers beginning their slide to has been status.

Excellent show, and hope it goes to DVD. Tenyardtorrents may already
have it capped, so I'll be sure to cop it. Black players had to battle
on and OFF the gridiron. No country airs its dirty laundry like the USA,
that's for sure.

I think the producers of this show do not like Bud Adams, and considering the demise of the Houston Oilers, it makes sense because of the history of the AFL. When you see the credits roll at the end, gratitude is expressed to all the old AFL teams, and then there is "Tennessee Titans" sticking out like a sore thumb. It is disgraceful.

People point out those first two championships, but they never mention that there were only seven teams in the league at the time. These championships are not equal to the NFL championship.
