I know many people believe we need to increase depth at the LB or CB positions, but the WR position seems to be a problem with me. The only Productive WR was Johnson, of course. There was a drop of from Johnson (79 rec 1142yds 6 tds) to Gaffney (41 rec 632 yds 2tds). That is a giant drop off, and It wont be long b4 The double converages will be overwhelming for Johnson, i know he will be able to handle them 80% of the time, but the ohter 20%...can u really rely on Gaffney or Bradford. Anway, I belive we could do the same thing the Lions have setup with Roy Williams and Charles Rogers With that tandem, they will have absolutely no problem passing on anybody. Here are a few WR to condsider
Braylon Edwards WR 6-3, 205 Michigan Mike Williams WR 6-4, 230 Southern California Mark Clayton WR 5-11, 190 Oklahoma Roddy White WR 6-1, 200 Alabama-Birmingham Troy Williamson WR 6-2, 200 South Carolina Chris Henry WR 6-5, 210 West Virginia J.R. Russell WR 6-3, 195 Louisville Terrance Murphy WR 6-1, 195 Texas A&M Craphonso Thorpe WR 6-1, 195 Florida State I ones in bold are better choices for the team, I belive we need to trade up for Clayton, or Maybe trade down to pickup Murphy, I think Murphy would solve our problems at WR, nodoubt |

I think Troy Williamson, is the best choice. He is a homerun type of guy, who could take alot of attention with him down the field. Which would allow AJ some room to work.

^^I agree, especially if we don't count on production from our TE position in the passing game then we definitely need another home run WR to take the pressure off of Johnson because teams don't consider Gaffney, Armstrong, or Starling difference makers.

If we address the WR in the draft on the first day I'd rather see us go after a guy like Roddy White or Vincent Jackson. With those guys it's possible they'd be available in the 2nd or 3rd rounds of the draft. Williamson is great, but he'd probably be a 1st round pick. I still think we can develop guys like Armstrong and Starling and Gaffney. Nothing wrong with infusing more talent at the WR position, but not sure I'd use my 1st round pick on it.
Vincent Jackson 6'6 235

You have a valid point, but none of those guys will be as good, we need to adress WR in the 1st round, Carr needs another option, his career is gettin to that point now.....where he will be judged against peyton manning, and mcnaab and not harrington anymore. He cant develope completely weithout another option. |

He's not really a bruising back. He's not in the mold of a Lamont Jordan or a Jerome Bettis or a Ricky Williams. DD is more like Deuce Staley of the Steelers than he is Jerome Bettis.

It looks like Kevin Johnson is a free agent if I heard correctly. If he's not asking for much, he'd be a perfect fit for WR.
