Excellent post and thread. I have been nervous all week about this game and the first quarter was like the nightmare repeating itself. I am so proud of this team and coaching staff. I am glad Kubiak pulled Slaton and stuck with Moats. Our team with a legit running game is scary good.

Yes, I agree. We have also beat 3 decent teams in a row, which is also what playoff teams do. Now we need to beat a very good team next week in their own building.

I concur. This team played like garbage in the first half offensively, and the defense stepped up and took control of the game. This is a very good sign.

i think this is one of the biggest games in texans history in regards to becoming a playoff team. with everybody around here excited about the game and knowing we are the better team, i just knew we were in for a letdown. playoff teams, especially towards the middle part of the season, beat the teams that they're supposed to. that's what the texans did today. they went out there, not playing their best ball but made adjustments and beat a lesser team.

We were moving the ball in the first half just fine. It was the miscommunication with Daniels on the INT, the INT off AJ's chest, and the Slaton fumble that even made this game competitive for 30 minutes.

When everything that could go wrong does go wrong, and you're still in the game, you're having a good day.

^^^^This. 3 turnovers in the 1st quarter and they only scored off of one of the to's and a long return. Our defense played a complete game and if you can subtract the turnovers (which I totally get you can't) so did our offense.

Maybe I'm guilty of engaging in hyperbole with regards to the first-half performance, but they weren't executing as well as they usually do, Schaub did not make accurate throws, and they kept turning the ball over. The offense played poorly enough to allow the Bills the opportunity to affect the all-important momentum and flow, but the defense stepped up and punched the Bills in the face.

The Texans control their own destiny. The next 4 games are inside the division, 2 of the next 3 versus Indy. No one will hand the Texans a playoff berth. They'll have to earn it. That's what playoff teams do.

If we are going to make the playoffs, we have to take one of those games from Indy, and both games from the Tacks and Jags. We've got three loses right now, we can only afford two more the rest of the year. I don't think 10-6 is good enough for the playoffs.

Why not take both, and send the Colts (and the league) a message?

I don't know what record it will take to make the playoffs. At least the notion that the Texans are too young or not talented enough has proven to be false. There's enough experience and more than enough talent. There are no excuses for the Texans to not make the playoffs.

Thats one way to look at it. Or you could say this team is doing the same old thing its done week after week this year. Jeckly one half and Hyde the next. Its good to feel good about a win but consistency is what playoffs teams do. I know I sound like Debbie Downer but other than the Cinci game we have not played 60 minutes of solid football. Good win today against an inferior opponent. That is what we are suppsed to do.

On the bright side we are 5 and 3 playing that way. If we get it together we should have something special. Sucks that we have to play Indy 2 of the next 3. I sure hope it doesnt slow the momentum we have started to build. We really need to at the very least split that series to have actually have "turned the corner".

Dont get me wrong, Im as excited as everyone about this teams potential but I wnat to keep my feet on the ground untill theres no doubt. Now lets kick some Colt ass!!!!!!!!!

Titans are winning with Young 13 to 7. Boy if we win at Indy and Tenn pulls off a couple of wins with Vince that could make that game interesting.

That MNF game is suddenly looking a lot more interesting. I am so happy about the way the Texans played the second half. I'm so sick and tired of only getting one half of good football. I was very impressed at overcoming 3 turnovers on the road. That was tailor made for a team folding, but we made the adjustments and kicked Buffalo ass in the 2nd half.

They struggled, turned the ball over, lost key guys due to injury and other reasons. AJ and Schaub were off a little bit.

In the past, these games would've went against us..........but today, we found a way to pull it out. I think we might have a team folks...

I was talkin' noise ALL WEEK LONG on the Bills messageboard. Those
fans are NUTS over there, and EXTREMELY passionate. The Texans
made EVERYTHING I SAID over about 60 posts come true. I chatted
on that messageboard during the game, and when Byrd got those picks,
I was eating crow on the kid "gettin' lucky with tipped balls."

My next statement was: "I expect the Texans to correct its mistakes, and
win big." When the game started to turn, all I got from them were F-U's
and everythang else. They were breaking forums rules by creatively
spelling the major cuss words to get at me. The Texans made my
week. I expect Indy fans to be more classy than Bills fans. Tony Dungy
always saw in the Texans what's coming to pass. In Coach Dungy's
words from March of this year: "I think the Texans are a confidence piece
away from becoming a dominant team."

Keep giving ESPN a reason to pay attention, Texans. Keep putting America
on notice.
