kyle's or kubiak's? from all i can tell on gameday kubiak is watching the chart incase a situation happens to catch his eye and kyle's on the mic for almost every play, and the scripted plays arent kubiak's norm so again i assume them to be kyle. does anyone know more certainly what the roles are when it comes to design and playcalling?

It's Alex Gibbs' offense! I'm afraid that's the problem. They stubbornly refuse to adjust away from the base zone running play even though every time they do it's effective. I believe that a little variety and some misdirection (other than the bootleg and end around) would go a long way in making the Zone runs more effective. The problem is that Gibbs doesn't believe in that.

Its Matt Schaub's. The play-calling/gameplan for the most part is centered around him and his stengths. Which makes the goal line play-calling all the more perplexing.

i'm suprised ... i get the feeling we're seeing a whole lot more kyle than kubiak. kubiak's philosophy being designed and executed by kyle and gibbs.

It doesn't matter who's making the calls because they're hamstrung by the Gibbsasaurus.

Maybe I'm missing something, but where is the ZBS? I don't seee the lateral push at all anymore. Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought that the reason we use lighter/faster lineman was to beat them to the punch and push them to the side. It appears to me that we seem to be using more straight up blocking and are being completely blown off of the ball due to our smaller blockers. Am I wrong here?

All the other linemen block down to the inside. Winston would try to combo with Brisiel; D.Brown with Studdard, whenever they can. |

Last year, I don't think we even start pulling a Guard or a Tackle until late in the season. Gibbs and Kubiak had said during PS last year that we were goinng to do just that, going back to the basics at the start of the season, due to all the new faces on the O-line. This year, we expand the scheme, with more Guard and Tackle pulls to utilize their quickness in space, which, to me, is a good thing. |
