What a moron. Actually I should probably be referring more to his agent.

I dunno, what's the chances of him being on the field for the game down here in Reliant later this month ?

I blame Crabtree more for this than his agent. E. Parker has been tough to deal with at times, but he knows the system doesn't work for a #10 to be paid more than a #7 pick. Crabtree was drafted, he's not a FA.
At this point, Crabtree needs the 49'ers a whole lot more than they need him.

Not anything meaningful. He hasn't had camp or anything.

Having said that, I wonder how involved Deion Sanders is with this thing.

Funny thing is that the 9ers are in the drivers seat. They're winning and doing well without him.
Smart move Craptree!

Yeah that would be his donkey's behind of a cousin screwing things up. I think Deion had a hand in getting him back to the negotiating table. He seemed to know Crabman was going to be talking with 9ers brass on Sunday during NFL gameday

I really wanted him to suceed when I watched him a Tech. But now a big piece of me wants to see him fall flat on his face when/if he steps on to an NFL field. Players who think they have already proved themselves in college and have earned pro respect without playing a down in the NFL need a swift kick to the junk.

sign him and trade him. this guy has prima donna receiver written all over him, in the mold of T.O., and Ocho Cinco.
a distraction just waiting to happen.

What would somebody like this kid be doing if not for his football skills ?
Working at a KFC if he could find one that's hiring maybe ? Does not some responsible adult in this guys life point out to this arrogant, foolish, immature youngster how incredibly lucky he is to have such as opportunity to play this sport that he loves so much while making millions and millions of dollars for doing so ? |

you don't see that kind of stuff in this league due to the salary cap hit.

If I remember correctly, aren't you a pretty big 49er fan? Is that right? If so, how do you feel about Crabtree and how much of an impact do you think he can have upon the 49ers with their offensive woes?

serious enough that left him unable to complete in his combine/pro-day activities as I recall ? It seems that, given that experience, it would occur to him that's he's not immortal ? Things happen - lighning strikes, people get run over by 18-wheelers, etc. You'd think he'd take that money and run to the bank - as a young African-American man from a large urban area he surely must know what its like to be economically disenfranchised ? |

Follow me here...he had an injury, a pretty bad foot injury...the 49ers needed some attention on their season....
Maybe this has all been a giant play on the media? I know that is a bit on the crazy side but...hey, it's possible. |

It would be great if the 9ers dropped the offer by a million or so just to prove a point. I am pretty sure if he does not sign this month he can not play for the entire season.
Even if he does sign I doubt Singletary will be excited to see him on the field. Make his contract incentive based and then never play him. I can see it now: Singletary: "Crabtree!" Crabtree: "Yeah coach ... I'm ready to play." Singletary: "That's great. Get back on the bench." does that maybe 5 times a game. If he mouths off even for a second or questions him he sends him to the locker room.

Basically the 49ers have leverage. He realizes that they are pretty good without him and he will get boned next year if he holds out. So now the 49ers can still be a solid team and sign him. He is a bonus. If he contributes this year they go from rock solid mid to lower playoff team to a scarier team. I hope it happens. I think the guy and his agent have been idiots but I'd like to see him play.
