Have you noticed how united we all are on this board this past week?

Seriously. I bet this was a slow week for mods having PM posters to tell them to stop fighting with each other.

Thank you, Houston Texans, for giving all of us something to dislike more than each other.

Guys, it's okay. We will still win 10-11 games.

Our defense will not continue to give up a 70% conversion rate on 3rd and long.

Our offense won't be in the bottom of the league running the ball.

Our defense will average more than one sack every 3rd game.

seriously, we will finish the season + 5 or more in the turnover margin. We will have more sacks than we give up. We will be a top 5 scoring and yardage offense. And, we will finish no worse than 2nd in the division.

I think everyone is just wore out from 8 years of this and now a true uncertainty of how to solve (even some of the usual optimistic folk, like me, or left wondering and unsure). The opener was the cherry that just topped it all off.

Get a few wins in, a few less losses and by the end of the year we may have the good ol "QB v Oline v coach v secondary" knock downs again.

After the sobering loss last week, I went back and looked at the Jets game. I feel less disappointed about the opener than I did at the time. Reflecting back, I didn't consider that the Jets had been 10-6 as recently as '06 and even last year, they were just a Favre INT or two out of the playoff hunt. Rex Ryan took that playoff caliber team (after Mangini lost the locker room), added a couple of pieces (Bart Scott and Lito Sheppard) and put some spunk and swagger back into them. Had I not been under the influence, I probably would have seen that one coming.
