CLEVELAND (AP) -- Quarterback Jeff Garcia was released Monday by the Cleveland Browns, who cut ties with the three-time Pro Bowler after one disastrous season and with three years left on his contract.

Garcia signed a four-year, $25 million free agent contract with the Browns last March after spending five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. But almost from the time Garcia arrived in Cleveland, there were problems.

I'd give Holcomb a chance. He looks pretty good to me.

Good for the Texans, the Browns are looking for a QB now and that has started talk of drafting one (Rodgers, Smith) so Derrik Johnson has a better chance of falling to us now.

Mooch has talked about bringing someone in at QB this offseason, calling the QB position his pitching rotation. So I assume he is looking at a Warner or Garcia. Given the history with Garcia, I'd say it's a good bet.
