Were we better off with GK calling the plays? The O line played like crap. Make no mistakes friends, the o line cost us this game.

no the entire team was **** today. His playcalling didn't help at all though.

Well he took care of all he could. I mean he wasn't calling the
or they would've been giving up a 50 burger.

I really think we saw some light in the defense, I just hope that this is one of those games that wakes everyone up!

Team has been flat all year. Check my older posts. Don't want to hear Shab not 100% could not move or push off and get anything on throws. If that is at all true then HE SHOULD NOT HAVE STARTED. The Texans need to be realistic. They need the PASS to set up the run, not the other way around. Shab you have AJ use him, give him a chance. This is not throw the ball to your buddy only. They are WEAK in the TRENCHES. It is OK for fans to be unrealistic ,but as coaches you need to realize what your strengths and weaknesses are right NOW. Also you know the other team strengths hopefully.Don't live in LA LA LAND and kid yourself that you are able to do something and then spend a whole half beating your head against the wall. Play to YOUR STRENGTH and make THEM ADJUST. First half defense adequate except for busted coverage. First half offensive game plan a JOKE. Kubiak/Shan c'mon guys PLAY TO WIN. Don't want to hear you were limited in your play calling because of Matt's physical ability. Matt looked very tentative and threw many passes that even if completed did not do anything. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN COACHES AND PLAYERS. These players played and talked and acted like they were HOT ******. They looked like a team hung over after winning the Super Bowl, but wait they are coming off a great 8-8 season. Looks like a POORLY COACHED team that is already mailing it in. Sorry I have to say this, but they look FLAT or it could be confused, I don't know.

Everyone played so poorly I don't think you can really point the finger at anyone specifically for this performance.
Despite all the complaining that we needed to just throw down field every down, he actually called a ton of plays with deep routes as the first and second option. They simply were not open, or there was too much pressure. His play calling was rather less than imaginary though, especially compared to what the jets were throwing at us, with fakes, double fakes, misdirection, and excellent timing on their screens. In part I think that's just what Kubes wants. His offenses have never really been cute. They are known for having a good running game, and an efficient passing attack that goes deep off of the play fake. Today was a perfect storm of terrible running head first into a wall of Rex Ryan's defensive genius.

I could care less who's to blame, we should all be more concerned with how does the problem get solved.

The O-line was the problem, but if Shannahan should have done anything differently, it's use more screen passes. That's the best way to counter all the blitzing.

I thought D played excellent on 1st and 2nd down, and couldn't get any pressure on obvious 3rd and long plays. And when they did, they still gave up the catch

and in the few moments i could observe him in space... i thought Steve looked slow. We looked shell-shocked. Attributable to Shanahan's 1st time at the reins... possibly.

two plays REALLY stand out to me offensively
we pitched out to Slaton on a sweep and what caught my eye is that he gets stuffed for a minimum or NO gain.. and why? both of our receivers (that were supposed to blocking) are FLAT on their backs ...WTH? other.. Myers.. getting flung like a rag doll

The screen passes that were called I know at least 2 Schaub missed the receiver, he threw behind them or low and out of reach.

I thought the play-calling was arrogant and the gameplan was awful. If we actually thought we could score with that vanilla gameplan than Gary needs to be back on the horn calling things.

The defense looked good. They did, but you can't keep a squad on the field that long ad expect them to stay that way. Had Schaub kept our offence on the fieldand maybe even forced them to play catch-up the pressure could have got in Sanchez' head and the game would have looked a lot different. Once they knw we had nothing they were ale to get exotic with their playcalling an our D couldn't keep up
I don't have a problem with Kubes sending out his "field General" knicked up, but when it was obvious he was useless and ineffective, he should have been replaced! Coaching - F
