I remember Oliver Luck from his Oiler days. And now his son is a college QB. Wow, I'm really getting old.

I saw Luck play in high school. He is nothing short of amazing. When is the last time Stanford had a QB leave early for the draft? Because Luck probably could after next season if he wanted to.

The comparisons at the collegiate level are fleeting, given that the top quarterbacks play out of either pass-happy systems (Boise State Kellen Moore and Houston’s Case Keenum) or a version of the spread (Florida’s Tim Tebow and Colt McCoy of Texas), while Luck operates out of a balanced, pro-style offense. As a result, Luck is not just displaying skills effective at the collegiate level, but at the professional one, too. Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford may be most similar to Luck and even then, Bradford works out of the shotgun much of the time, while Luck is constantly under center.

Given his natural gifts and the scheme he works in, it is no surprise that Luck is considered a top prospect — and potential No. 1 overall pick — for whichever draft he decides to enter (he’s eligible beginning in 2011). http://www.stanforddaily.com/cgi-bin/?p=1035755
************************************************
Young Luck has gone from being a prospect with real potential as Stanfords starting QB just in September to this article calling him a potential #1 overall in the NFL Draft whenever he decides to come out ! Hey I've heard of hype but this is really pretty extreme.
But this story compares him to other QBs out there including the Big 12 guys, Keenum, and Tebow. They seem to think he's got it all: strong, accurate arm; athletic ability including skills as runner; size; smarts; and he's getting experience in a pro-style system. What else remains to be said ? Move over Elway ?

All of this sounds alot like Archie and Peyton Manning. I wonder if the media will act like Oliver Luck was an NFL great like they do Archie.

On a serious note, I guess this kid would be going to somewhere like St. Louis. I think his pro style offense is what makes people really excited about him. If you go back and look at the QBs that made it and those that didn't, you will see that these "zone read" offense QBs don't make it. At least not right away.

Alex Smith - just barely coming along and really he kind of showed who he really is against Tenn. this past weekend.

Vince - is really the only one we've seen have success.

Leinart (pro style) - is probably the only one that hasn't succeeded but he still has a career ahead of him and is learning from one of the best ever.

Cutler (pro style)- Is still a starting QB.

Sanchez (pro style) - has shown some brilliance in his rookie season.

Stafford - I'll wait on that guy because of the team he is on but right now it doesn't look good.

David Carr - um.....well....you know!

Phillip Rivers (pro style) - one of the top QBs in the game.

Ben Rothlesberger (pro style) - won two Super Bowls.

Eli Manning (Pro Style)

Luck is a legit player. Pro size and ability already. I am looking forward to watching him play on Sundays, in a few years.

last week Stanford beat Oregon 51-42. Toby was the star, rushing for 224 yds. & 3 TD's which shows the value of a good RB to QB success as he only had to distribute the ball via air 20 times completing 12 for 251 yds. & 2 big TD's which was too much for an explosive Duck offense to keep up with.

I was impressed with his poise in pocket, accuracy downfiled & arm strength.

Stanford vs USC today on 648 FCSC if you've got AT&T U-verse. I dunno
if it's even carried on Comcast ?
Anyway Andrew Luck looks like he's ready for the NFL right now after that drive where he took Stanford right down the field for a TD after Stanford recovered a USC fumble.

Something tells me that they will be back in it next year and you wonder why Pete wanted Sanchez to stay. One thing is for sure you cant keep up the dominance they have had the last few years when you are putting a ton of players in the NFL.

55 - 21 ! Or something like that. I love it ! I love it whenever USC gets its sorry butts kicked, especially by a team led by a QB from Houston. Dang that sounds familiar somehow ?
Hey Brian, I'm glad we drafted you and you're doin good things for the Texans, but sorry about your Trojans, 'cause I know you were going to the game this weekend on your Bye week. No that's not really true, I lied, I'm not sorry. And it's even more special when they got embarrassed on a National TV game at their own Home Coming !

Jealous much of for their success or just a hater? I have nothing invested in USC, but I do find it funny how many people have such animosity against them.

I think it comes with the territory of all the ESPN slob knobbing about Leinart and Bush.

I actually have a lot of respect for USC. I think it is amazing what they have done in the last decade.

With that said, they are treated like the golden child by the media so it is fun to watch them lose. It seems that they are in that category with Notre Dame, the Yankees, Cowboys, and Lakers. You either love them or hate them. No in between.
