Did anyone else get to hear the rant John Harris went on about the Saints game this morning? I guess it was aired yesterday, but I didn't hear it until this morning on the John and Lance show. Talk about hilarious!

Heard it yesterday afternoon and again this morning with John and Lance. I loved it.
He "just had to let his inner coach out." Classic.

Truly Classic Rant !
What do they award instead of an Oscar or Emmy on radio ? Whatever it is, Harris has got one coming. The Texans need to put Harris on their payroll for those games this year that would require such a halftime speech (I'm sure there will atleast be a few ?). |

John Harris is pretty sharp & I usually agree with most of his assessments.

I'm sorry. What position on the football field did this guy ever play??
I wish he could really cut loose in the locker room - with no police protection - and see if he lives to broadcast the next day. |

I thought the rant was stupid. It sounded staged to me, plus it's a freaking pre-season game, lighten up. I like Harris and wish 1560 wouldn't have paired him up with that dufus Pendergast. That dude keeps the show WAY away from sports and that's taking away from Harris' talent and strength. Football season is here and I want to hear FOOTBALL from Harris.

"6.4 eff'ing yards per carry!!!"
and LOL at how he said Okam's last name. LOL. "Go play video games with your friends." LOL. Staged, but funny. "Oh yeah, TJ...forget about it. You don't have a chance." Wow. "Brees isn't even showering over there tonite." hahaha...

You do realize that the language was for football not a symposium on psychoanalytical views of Sigmund Fraud versus Carl Jung.

It was something we were joking about on Twitter during the game.
He mentioned something about post game speeches to the players, and I suggested that John do one. So he did. I wanted to hear it. He had to tape it in advance because otherwise he would have got in serious FCC trouble. I love talking to John about football. He is intense. I like intense. I think he matches up well with Sean because they are different people but get along well. Sean is very knowledgeable about his football and sports in general too, he just picks his spots.

Who said anything about Freud or Jung? In my opinion, he was trying to be funny and failed. There was a time when you could let your kids listen to the radio without fear of profanity. I know I am cutting against the grain here. I understand profanity in all forms is now part of the mainstream of our culture. That doesn't mean I have to like it, appreciate it or laugh at it.
