I'm hearing that an aweful lot in these pre-season games. I think it's being yelled out by the defense.

Does anybody know what that means?

I heard the same thing at the Cowboys game the other night but for some reason I thought it was Romo yelling that? Not sure what it means....

I have heard a qb calling it and letting everyone know that a blitz was coming ..

maybe the word came from reference of omaha beach on D-day?

I would suggest calling John McClain and asking him but he'd probably reference off to some movie he's seen....and I like John but TOO much movie talk on 610.

hmmm...Charlie on 790 probably knows.

For the Texans it has meant quick count, forget what I said in the huddle.

Maybe because the play clock is running out, maybe some other reason.

I'm pretty sure it's an audible. An audible is when they change the play at the line of scrimmage. Such as if the QB sees a certain defensive formation... he changes the play. Same to be said of defensive plays.

I've seen them say Omaha, Blue, and Red.

Audibles... nobody knows exactly what what they shout out means. It could mean go long or even mean 'go to IHOP and get me some pancakes.' It's all worked out in camp.

Wolf is correct. It's a reference to seeing a blitz coming. That's what we did in high school but rather than fingerspelling O-M-A-H-A, we would fingerspell W-W-2 for World War 2. Much easier and quicker than spelling out Omaha. Doesn't mean that's what it means in the NFL but you get the gist of it.

When QBs say it. Its Audibling the protection to a basic max protection scheme.

Oline takes big plus sam/will. Qb is responsible for MLB.
