OK, so let's throw out names of QBs who are available - Houston Texans Message Board & Forum

Name the QBs who are capable of running the Kubiak system. Because it sounds like nobody here is happy with the two backups.

For fun, let's say we're GM for a day. We just cut both backup QBs and we're holding talks and tryouts with free agent QBs.

My first idea is unavailable. He plays in the CFL now, but he was on a pass-happy college team and went undrafted in this year's draft.

List guys who are free agents. Can't be a "wish I had THIS guy" idea.

I'm fine with Orlovsky, he didn't finish drives yes but he made some good throws. I see something there with him. Rex's performance was very disheartening, looking like he did with the Bears doing dumb things like fumbling snaps and closing his eyes and throwing hail marys into double coverage.

I doubt Rex is released but they might bring in some QBs just to take a look, especially if Rex's injury is something.

LOL, don't you think we should give these guys atleast a couple of preseason games before we just declare they suck? They did just start learning this system. Relax people, it was the very first game with live bullets....if their performances don't improve next week, then I'll start to worry. The coaches/QBs now have live tape they can go over and improve from.

Why? That guy hasn't done anything in this league that the players on this roster haven't already done. Honestly the guys we have now have done more. Kolb has been a disappointment so far in Philadelphia.

He was drafted in 2007 and has only been in half a game and it was against the Ravens who have either the best or second best D in the league. He went in after McNabb got benched at halftime. Honestly there is not enough information on Kolb to say one way or the other.

Yes, but the signing of Mike Vick does not give Kolb much of a vote of confidence.....the organization is looking to push McNabb for whatever reason and Kolb isn't doing it, he isn't even coming close...he just lost his job to a guy who spent the last 2 years in jail.

LOL, the only difference is, is that Patriot fans aren't starting that forum (serioulsy who's going to start a Brady sucks thread in 2009)...those are just haters. Kolb has done absolutely NOTHING in this league for anybody to say we should bring him in over what we have now. If the eagles had any confidence in Kolb they wouldn't have signed Mike Vick....obviously Kolb is the odd man out. I know the guy is a fan favorite here, because he played for Houston, but for a 2nd round pick he has done NOTHING... He's starting to look like one of the multiple overhyped QB Houston has produced. I'd pass.

Yes he was hurt, but according to sources, the eagles were in talks with the Vick camp before that injury took place.........Kolb is not living up to his draft status there.
