Barwin was just 30 min. late to training camp. Now we just need to lock up Cushing.

As soon as those above Cushing that also have his agent sign, I think Cush will be resolved quickly.

It's good to hear!
I really don't anticipate anything that would stop us from signing all the draft picks.

Here's the PFT Link

Quote:
UPDATE: PFT's Aaron Wilson is reporting that Barwin received a four-year deal with a maximum total value of $4.01 million, according to a league source. That includes total guaranteed money of $2.461 million. The total value increase is 8.6% higher than last year's pick at his slot.
Looks to be a pretty friendly deal, and is below the number the total salary number Alan Burge was predicting. The guaranteed money is slightly higher.

Quote:
Just looking at the numbers, Barwin's slot is fairly tight and he should end up with a deal around 4-years, $4.15 million with somewhere around $2.3M guaranteed.
Good job, Connor.

Good job, Connor.
Hey, an 8.6% increase in this economy is outrageous! LOL!

Agreed. If he turns out to be the player Smithiak thought when selected, he will be way under paid.

Great but expected news on Barwin........pics above and below him were signed already and he is a second rounder.

A Cushing signing is unlikely until significant first round signings above and below him occur.......mostly blanks at this time. This year's signings in the 1st round seem to be going much slower than in past years, unless we see a sudden flurry of activity........and it may have something to do with the potential loss of the CBA next year.

Good to see Barwin signed. As I stated before on another thread, I don't think Barwin could afford to miss much TC time because he missed all of the OTA's due to late graduation.

As for Cushing, I hope he signs soon, but he could miss several days depending on how agent/agents are handling things. And you're right CNNND, the 1st round does seem to be going a lot slower this year.
