There was a highlight show that had scores and injuries from every game played that week, whether you played it or not, and the best plays had highlights.

Not to mention you could customize celebrations and stadium music. If you wanted to, you could put your favorite song to play after each touchdown and whoever scores would do the dirty bird.

i loved espn 2k5 and its shame that it was the last one... i thought some things were unrealistic and moved over to madden.... for example there was numerous times were i had a guy like derrick armstrong wide open down the field and he would drop the ball.. and in madden it seems like no matter what the guys rating is... if hes wide open he will catch it.... sucks that 2k sport wasnt able to improve there games though

Mike Allstot would break 14 tackles every play. All you had to do was that silly Y button "Lower your Shoulder" move and it was over.

I just hope they make it possible to complete a deep throw again. It's come to the point anything over 30 yards is going to be picked or batted down. PlayStation has kept it decent when it comes to that(or least 08 did on the PS2), but every edition of madden that has been released on the 360 has been just like that.

Now if they would put it on the PC I would be a happy camper. I'm not much of a gamer outside of Madden and the classics, so I never even bother buying the new systems.

Last console game I have is '07 for Gamecube, and it's decent enough. Nowadays I play '08 on the PC with '09-10 updates.

I'm one of those who stopped buying Madden when EA Sports paid their way out of having any competition. I miss NFL2Kx too. Their MLB is the absolute best. I'll bet their NFL game would rock too... ...if the NFL hadn't sold their soul to Madden.

I fault all the gamers who buy each Madden game. Including me.

But I'm not buying this year's. Rent it for $7, take it back in 7 days. And I'll have seen all the new, wonderful stuff...within the first 30 minutes of playing it.

The 2K game(s), with the 2005 version being the last, are better. I think the passing can be a little fluke'ish, but the presentation is great. It feels like watching a football game, with all the halftime and postgame stuff.

wait and buy it used...that's what I usually do. Let your money go to gamespot or something instead of to the monopoly.
