The Raiders cut their 6th round draft pick without even allowing him to attend camp. Who the heck does that crap?! They didn't even notify the player he was being cut. Hell, they even sent him an invite to camp.

Following the Oakland Raiders' surprising decision to cut ties with sixth-round rookie defensive end Stryker Sulak, which Mike Florio reported earlier today, a source close to the situation tells us that the team gave no reason for the decision to release him.

"He has just been back home working out and getting ready for camp," our source said. "He had just received a letter inviting him to come to camp. It's a brutal business, and it's a shame that they wouldn't give him a legitimate chance to compete and try to make the team."

Lol. I do follow the Raiders a little. Always liked their colors and logo growing up.

I think they just signed a DE who came from the Cowgirls fairly recently? If so... the signing basically put Sulak out on his ass. Greg Ellis. That's who it was... I kind of like the move. It allows Sulak ample time to latch on somewhere since he most likely was NOT going to get a fair shake to make the team.

It IS a wasted pick and that translates into the Raiders paying an even higher price for Ellis's services. Draft picks shouldn't be taken lightly though. Especially on a team as bad as the Raiders. Drafting Bey at #7 and now cutting a pick prior to camp... ugh.

The raiders always reach about 2-3 rounds too early for guys, so this guy was probably an UDFA for anyone else

I just think it's jacked up. Sure, they brought in Ellis, but the dude's old. Wouldn't you want youth learning from him? And to not even give him a looksee in camp? Heck, just a week and maybe one pre-season game should determine his potential. Nope, let's just cut him in July

I liked Sulak and would not mind him here, but I can only see him making the PS with our new depth at DE.
