My family is breaking away from the Raging Bull Tailgaters to do our own little tailgate and we are trying to think of different ways to get live TV at the tailgate. I know RBT had the Direct TV mobile satellite with the NFL Ticket package, but that's a bit on the high end of our price range.
My idea was to get an AT&T mobile internet card and connect my laptop which has a HDMI outlet into a HD TV. The question I have with that is what do you watch on gameday. NFL.com has a sweet package, but it's only available outside of the US!?! I know there are some streaming sites out there like UStream and Justin.TV, but I was looking for something with a bit more high quality. How do you go about gettin live TV at your tailgate without having to set up a satellite dish or drop a lot of cash. Also any quiet affordable generator recommendations would be appreciated! I look forward to tailgating on some grass in the yellow lot as opposed to the asphalt of the platinum lot. |

Bring an external HD antenna? Most of the games will be on the basic networks. You can get on of these for about $20.

Crap - forgot about the digital switch. We need a black box for our tailgate Tv now.

As long as your TV can handle a digital signal (check the mfgr's website) you can just buy an OTA (over the air) HD antenna. They're cheap.
Our tailgating TV is at LEAST a 10 year old standard TV. It can't handle a digital OR an HD signal. |
